Gamers everywhere watched the Consumer Electronic Show () keynote closely, not just for the speech itself, but for what came after. teased that more Mass Effect gameplay was coming following the Nvidia keynote speech.

The gameplay itself looks like more of what we've seen of so far. The combat generally lines up with previous installments, but there were still some new tricks. Check it out!

We finally now see some of the mechanics of the new game, including the loyalty and profile systems, in addition to more glorious space-shooter action. The hype for Mass Effect: Andromeda has reached new heights after the announcement of the release date in March. The Mass Effect franchise has been incredibly successful, and apart from the blemish of the weird and unsatisfying ending to Mass Effect 3, the games have also been almost universally praised and critically acclaimed.

In the Bioware blog announcement of the release date, they had this to say:

"The passion you have for the franchise continues to drive us. And now, we’re just a couple of months away from delivering a brand new Mass Effect experience to you for the first time in five years – richer, deeper and ready for exploration. We’re excited about how far we are going with the franchise, and we hope you find it’s been worth the wait."

- Aaryn Flynn, General Manager of BioWare

But even though we've now seen several gameplay trailers, it's important not to let the hype train pick up too much momentum - especially considering the hard lessons of consumer expectations we learned from Pokémon GO and No Man's Sky over the Summer in 2016. Mass Effect: Andromeda looks like a great game, but until we get our hands on it, that's all we can say.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be available March 21 in the US and March 23 internationally.

Are you excited for the new Mass Effect game?
