Fans have been pretty disgruntled with some of the updates Niantic has introduced for #PokemonGO as of late. But what they have in store for us all could help abate our collective qualms in one fell swoop—more #Pokemon! Isn't that what we all want?

A group of data-miners have uncovered some unused code in the latest update for Pokémon GO, which indicates that the Pokédex entries for the second generation of Pokémon could be introduced very soon. These are the lovelies from the Pokémon Gold & Silver era. Let me refresh your memory and show you who's about to join the GO family.

Even More Awesomeness Uncovered

Be sure to check out this amazing trailer for the kinetic Pokéball controller coming soon for Pokémon GO!

So, aside from all of these Pokémon, data-miners uncovered some additional features that are on the way in future updates. Here are the highlights:

1. New Move: Transform

A new quick move will be brought into the game that'll enable transformations!

TRANSFORM was spotted in the game's GAME_MASTER file along with its own animation sequence. This will be the only new move addition since the game has launched. What will it be like?!

2. 52 New Pokémon Families

With all of these new Pokémon on the way, they've brought a ton of new Pokémon families with them. Looks like things will be a lot more colorful once this update goes live!

3. The Lockout System

A ton of code was uncovered referencing the new anti-gym-sniping system. It's pretty straight forward it seems. An error message will appear if you are locked out of a gym and an 'ending millisecond' timer for deploy lockouts will also be present.

4. The Quest System

Looks like Pokémon GO will be getting daily quests, coupled with daily and weekly bonuses! They'll multiply over time, if the code is to be believed. Looks like Nianitc are trying to reward those who frequently head out into the wilds to catch some mons!

5. Ditto!

Looks like we not only have a ton of new Pokémon, but a super rare one along with them—Ditto! If you've been waiting for this little guy's arrival, it seems he's close at hand. You're excited right? Ditto.

What do you make of all these new features coming to Pokémon GO?
