Last year, Ubisoft did something unprecedented for a yearly franchise, something that you’ll never see Fifa or #CallofDuty ever attempt – they took a break to find their footing, reevaluate their priorities and return the next year, stronger than ever. I’m certain that if they really wanted to they could’ve released their next game in 2016 (and they would’ve been fully justified in doing so, considering the timely release of the Assassin’s Creed movie), but they didn’t… And from what we’ve seen, that decision was absolutely worth it.
Back To Its Roots
#AssassinsCreed: Origins takes everything good about the series and gets rid of the stuff that was outdated, like the combat system. The result appears to be a beautiful cross between Assassin’s Creed and The Witcher which will certainly attract a whole lot of new fans! But despite the fact that the new game is a prequel, I’m pretty sure that it’ll still be bogged down in lore, especially in its modern day segments. If even the veterans are losing track after the year-long hiatus, how are the newbies supposed to catch up?
Well, fortunately, the team of Chris Henrikson and Naze Art brought us a stunning timeline which summarizes all events from the series, from the very beginning to the present day. Check it out:
The timeline covers the events of every single main game, from the very first Assassin’s Creed that released ten years ago all the way to Syndicate, and also includes additional material related to the movie, the books and encyclopedias, both the physical ones and those found in-game. You can check out the full version right here, and I promise, it's absolutely worth it!
Assassin's Creed: Origins is set to come out on October 27, 2017.
