There's not a lot of heroes who could beat Superman in a stand-up fight, especially when he's gone all evil and ruthless. Sure, there's a few heavy hitters still left around, but in the #Injustice universe, they're mostly on Superman's side. So when you're out of muscle, who do you turn to when you're up against the Man of Steel?
These Unlikely 'Injustice 2' Heroes Could Beat Superman In A Fight
Most people would turn to Batman of course, but frankly he's made kind of a poor showing of himself in the Injustice comics and #VideoGames. Despite his meticulous planning and tactical genius, he lets Superman go almost as often as he used to let The Joker escape. So what about all the other Injustice 2 characters capable of taking down Superman in creative ways?
1. The Atom
As the latest issue of the #Injustice2 comic series has so helpfully pointed out, The Atom has a pretty handy advantage over even Superman himself. What do you do against a man with bulletproof skin? Take him down from the inside. At the subatomic level, even Superman's enhanced vision wouldn't be able to pick him up. After that, it's just a matter of finding a moment to slip in (and getting a hold of a bit of kryptonite of course) and you've got the perfect kill-switch for the man of steel.
Metamorpho has only shown up in Injustice on the side of Superman's one world government. That's a good thing for Superman, because Metamorpho is able to turn into Superman's greatest weakness at will. This bizarre, lesser-known hero has the ability to alter all or part of his body into almost any chemical substance at will, and he's not just limited to solids.
While Metamorpho is pretty strong and tough, he comes nowhere near to matching Superman's brawn. Luckily, kryptonite is among the many substances that Metamorpho can turn into. Not only can he transform into kryptonite, but Metamorpho can turn into gaseous kryptonite, a floating, intelligent cloud of poison that could take Superman down in a heartbeat.
Of course, Superman could always vaporize him from space if he got the drop on him, but where's the fun in that?
3. Plastic Man
Often overlooked, Plastic Man may actually be one of the most powerful beings in the #DC universe. Not only can he shape shift at will, making him an excellent spy, but he's essentially immortal and invulnerable. To make things even crazier, Plastic Man potentially has no upper limit on his strength, as his powers are mostly limited by his own imagination and mental blocks.
Of all the odd, minor characters on this list, Plastic Man is probably the only one who could take Superman in a knock-down fight if he wanted to. While Superman may have the ability to disrupt his body with heat vision, Plastic Man has a lot of tricks up his sleeves.
4. Dick Grayson
That's right, that Dick Grayson, the dead one (at least in Injustice continuity). For those who haven't been keeping up with the comics, Dick Grayson was tragically killed in an Arkham Asylum riot by Damian Wayne, the former Robin and Batman's son.
This wasn't the end of Grayson's story though, as cosmic events led to him being empowered as the new Deadman, an intangible, invisible specter that can possess the bodies of the living.
I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this. Superman may be almost impossible to take in a straight up fight, but like most of those on this list, Grayson doesn't need to face him head on. Since Superman's extra vulnerable to magic, his only resistance to Grayson is his own willpower, and since the Superman of the Injustice universe has been reduced to a deadly tantrum-throwing despot, he's hardly in a mind to resist the mystic forces of ghostly possession. After that, it'd just be a matter of walking into a nice little bit of kryptonite or another deadly/disabling trap and we'd have avoided all of Injustice 2 altogether!
