Update: The image has now become a reality on the Overwatch PTR. See the below tweet for confirmation.

Now, either Doomfist has come to claim back his gauntlet, or Thanos has decided to jump over from to add to his gauntlet collection. I guess we'll find out soon...

Original article begins below:

Ok, it's happening. Everybody stay calm.

just dropped what could very well be the first real teaser for , after a cryptic post on the official Overwatch social media pages sent fans into mild hysteria.

The post reads:

"[BREAKING] OR15 defense units destroyed in confrontation with unidentified attacker at Numbani airport. No civilian casualties reported."

Numbani is a fan-favorite payload map in Overwatch, and scattered around it already are a number of hints to an unidentified hero known as Doomfist. For example, the payload pushed by players actually contains the Doomfist gantlet (as seen in the Overwatch launch trailer) and a number of posters adorn the walls of Numbani illustrating three separate wielders of the infamous Doomfist gauntlet.

One of the three Doomfists is silhouetted, and listed as 'The Successor'. This particularly teaser has had fans of Overwatch clamoring for more information about this mysterious figure, but has the new picture posted by Blizzard confirmed that our Doomfist dreams are about to come true?

If you're still skeptical that the teasing post by Blizzard is in reference to Doomfist, then cast your mind back to the Overwatch cinematic trailer.

In the trailer, there's a particular scene in which one of the two brothers runs up to the Doomfist gauntlet display case, and says "That's Doomfist's Gauntlet! Oh man, they said he could level a skyscraper."

Now take a moment and look at the photo uploaded by Blizzard.

It's probably fair to say that it would take someone with the strength needed to "level a skyscraper" to be able to embed a robot that deeply in a solid wall. Either that, or these robots just had an unlucky run-in with a really angry Chuck Norris...
