Ok, so by now you might have calmed down a little after that crazy reveal, so now's probably a good time to learn a bit more about his character, his abilities, and of course, his ultimate.

Or just keep shouting "OMG DOOMFIST CONFIRMED" at your computer screen. That's cool too.

Doomfist Is All About War, Conflict, Battles, And Long Walks On The Beach

First thing's first, Doomfist's name isn't actually Doomfist. I know right? What a shame. That would've looked so cool on a driver's license.

His real name is Akande Ogundimu, a mercenary from Nigeria, and one of the leaders of Overwatch's greatest enemies, Talon. In the animation which released alongside his reveal, you can see him fighting Genji, Tracer, and Winston in Numbani, after he had become the successor to the previous Doomfist, referred to as "The Scourge."

Though he's undeniably kicking some Overwatch ass in the animation, he is actually defeated by Tracer, Genji, and Winston in the Overwatch lore, after which he is sent to a maximum security prison. He then breaks out of this prison using only his fists, and begins his journey to start a war against his old foes, the agents of Overwatch.

Now that he's out of prison, Doomfist is mad.

And he's definitely ready to sucker punch his enemies with an impressive range of fight-punch abilities:

Doomfist is an offensive hero, meaning his abilities are going to be dealing a lot of damage to his foes. One particularly brutal ability is 'Rocket Punch', a charged-up attack in which Doomfist lunges forward, knocking his enemy back with the full power of the Doomfist gauntlet. Also, an interesting thing about this ability is that if the enemy is knocked back into a wall, they will take additional damage, because getting slammed into a concrete wall at 200 miles per hour probably hurts a little.

His ultimate also packs a serious punch (you might want to get used to that pun), allowing Doomfist to leap into the sky before slamming to the ground, dealing huge damage to anybody in the impact zone.

So, if you're looking to elbow-drop the opposition, then look no further than Doomfist. Because who even needs a gun when you've got two fists and a badass power gauntlet?

Well what are you waiting for? Grab your gauntlet and smash some stuff! Not IRL though, we're not paying for that.

Will you be trying out Doomfist when he finally releases to all players? Let us know in the comments!
