Alright so it's finally arrived! 2016 is nearly over which means #FinalFantasyXV is currently the sole disc spinning in every PS4 and Xbox One across the globe. The monumental fifteenth instalment in Square Enix's long-running franchise brings with it the most muscular tale in its history, and a load of guides for how to tackle the thing.

Right now it's come down to our party members' outfits, and there are a lot of them to choose from. But why are outfits in Final Fantasy XV so important?

Each outfit brings perks to the heroes, such as defense against stat-reducing status ailments, increasing their ability to dodge incoming attacks and ups the chance of them landing their own critical strikes. So it would be wise to experiment with the different outfits in differing situations.

Also, take note that once an outfit is unlocked for one of the boys, it becomes unlocked for all of them. Neat, huh?
