While Resident Evil 7 may be moving away from the campy action the series had become known for in the last few installments, that doesn't mean the series is going to deprive you of awesome weaponry. If you've been wondering how to get all the weapons in , you've come to the right place.

A Guide To All The Weapon Locations And Item Unlocks In 'Resident Evil 7'

Here are all the weapons and their current location, broken up by weapon type in Resident Evil 7. We've also included a guide to the unlockable items that may not be weapons, but certainly make life easier. If you're looking for the collection of other collectable items, we've got guides on where to find all the antique coins, files and Mr. Everywhere statues. Let's roll.

Close-Combat Weapons

  • Axe

Location: You'll find this weapon during the first fight with Mia, you can't miss it, but you also don't get to keep it after the prologue.

  • Folding Knife

Location: First floor of the main house, in the hallway closest to the kitchen. A police deputy will hand the knife to you through the window, but he won't appear until you unlock the laundry room via the floor hatch.

  • Survival Knife

Location: During Mia's section near the end of the game, you'll find the survival knife outside the elevator on the second floor of the wrecked ship.

  • Crowbar

Location: When you regain control of Ethan on the wrecked ship, you'll obtain the crowbar immediately, however, it disappears once you use it for its intended purpose.

  • Chainsaw

Location: You get the chainsaw during the second boss encounter in the Baker House. It's only usable during this fight.

  • Circular Saw

Location: The circular saw is unlocked by beating the game in under 4 hours, which is easiest to do on the game's 'Easy' difficulty setting. This brutal melee weapon makes New Game+ runs a breeze.

Pistols

  • M19 Handgun

Location: The first time you find this gun is in the attic of the Baker House during the prologue. After the prologue you'll lose this weapon. To find it again, unlock access to the yard area outside the Baker House. In the yard you'll find a broken handgun.

Later in the game, on the second floor of the Testing Area, you'll find a repair kit next to a mannequin head wearing a baseball cap. Use the repair kit on the broken handgun to unlock the M19 again.

  • G17 Handgun

Location: After you get the folding knife from the deputy, you'll find the G17 handgun in the garage right before the first boss encounter in the game.

  • MPM Handgun

Location: Inside the first floor safe room on the wrecked ship during Mia's portion of the game.

  • 44 Magnum

Location: Bought for nine antique coins from the trailer in the yard of the Baker House.

  • Albert -01R

Location: You're given the Albert during the final boss fight of the game. Beating the game on any difficulty will also unlock this pistol for any future runs of Resident Evil 7.

Shotguns

  • M37 Shotgun

Location: Found in the hands of a statue in the main hall of the first floor of the Baker House. Use the broken shotgun or wooden shotgun to replace it in the statue's hands.

  • M21 Shotgun

Location: If you use a repair kit on the broken shotgun, it will unlock the M21. To have access to both the M21 and M37 shotguns, use the wooden shotgun from the children's room to replace the shotgun in the statue's arms.

Machine Guns

  • P19 Machine Gun

Location: On the fourth floor of the wrecked ship during Mia's section of the game. The P19 is found in the captain's cabin, inside a locker. To open the locker, you'll need the Captain's Key, which you can find in the second floor bunk room. Completing Mia's section will give Ethan access to the P19, the Remote Bombs, the MPM and the Survival Knife.

Special Weapons

  • Grenade Launcher

Location: In the supply room behind the locked Scorpion door on the first floor of the baker mansion.

  • Flamethrower

Location: The flamethrower has been broken into two parts that must be combined to unlock the weapon. Both parts are located in the Old House section of the game. The first half of the weapon is found on the porch, to the side of the Old House. The second half is found near the light puzzle, just outside the nearby door.

  • Remote Bomb

Location: The Remote Bombs are found in the wrecked ship during Mia's section and cannot be missed. You'll obtain them after reaching the boat. You'll find more scattered around the later sections of the game.

Non-Weapon Item Unlocks

  • X-Ray Glasses

Location: X-Ray Glasses have the same effect as psychostimulants, but work constantly as long as they're in Ethan's inventory. To unlock them, beat the game in under 4 hours. You will then find them in your item box upon starting a new game.

  • The Secrets Of Defense

Location: This scroll reduces incoming damage when blocking, to unlock it, beat the game on Normal difficulty.

  • The Essence of Defense

Location: Similar in effect to The Secrets of Defense, this scroll is unlocked by finding every Mr. Everywhere bobble-head in the game.

  • Walking Shoes

Location: The walking shoes make Ethan run faster, they're unlocked by finding every Mr. Everywhere bobble-head in the game.

  • Infinite Ammo

Location: The Infinite Ammo item unlocks only after defeating the game on Madhouse difficulty, an incredibly difficult unlockable difficulty mode. It provides infinite ammo for all weapons except bombs and melee weapons.
