Today marks the momentous occasion when console owners (XBOX One owners that is) can revel in the mods the PC gaming community has enjoyed since Fallout 4's released in November of 2015. Could the face of console gaming be forever modified (lol)? Perhaps. But let's not focus on the grandeur outcome of this event and rather draw our attention to some of the bat-shit crazy and beautifully conceived mods people have created for Bethesda's glorious RPG.

Fallout 4: Mods? MODS!

True Storms - Wasteland Edition

From the creators of a weather mod for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, comes an overhaul to Fallout 4's weather unlike anything you've seen this Summer.

At one point in 2015, True Storms was the fifth highest ranked Skyrim mod on nexusmods with over 10,000 endorsements. Its heralded return is an impressive feat by creator fadingsignal, one that sees heavy rains, dust storms, radiation rains, new unique weathers, sound effects, particle effects, textures and more introduced into Fallout 4. If you feel like you need more immersion for this fantastic, albeit glitchy video game, look no further than this impressive feat!

Hey, that's a lot of storms you've just added to your game! Looks like you're gonna need a better place to stay, huh? Don't worry we got you covered.

Homemaker - Expanded Settlements is a mod that adds over 1000 new craft-able objects, encompassing a great deal of the base game's paraphernalia. It also includes new build sets, working planters and much more. So what are you waiting for, Sole Survivor? Go build that dream home of yours!

Robot Home Defense

Now that you're comfortable in your abode you're gonna want to make sure its secure, right? Aren't you tired of having your settlements raided? Aren't you just looking for some better equipment to protect your loved ones and the 40 million aluminum cans you've amassed? Well fear no more, dear citizen: Robot Home Defense is here to help!

Normally you'll have to guard your home with turrets, traps and a few well-placed walls but this simply isn't enough. This mod will let you add Protectrons, Mister Gutsies, Assaultrons, Sentry Bots, Emergency Services Protectrons, Mister Handies, Miss Nannies, Utility Protectrons, Protectron Brewers, Generation 1 synths AND Generation 2 synths to your abodes. I feel safer already.

Full Dialogue Interface

Ever found yourself staring at your sole survivor thinking, "Why the hell did you just say that?" Don't worry, you're not alone. Bethesda may have made a great RPG, but the dialogue paraphrases they've included are often nonsensical.

Sometimes my character's retorts genuinely took me by surprise. That's not what we want in our RPGs, now is it? Well this mod enables the player to see everything their character is going to say in conversation. It's a small change, but one that makes a big difference.

Bodyslide & Outfit Studio

So, you got that snazzy new home to protect you from the badass lightning with the robots chilling outside and you can actually anticipate your own responses. You're doing pretty well so far, huh? Well how about an upgrade to your own person? See, I knew you'd be interested.

This mod is an easy to use tool for customizing and creating new bodies and outfits, and converting outfits between body types. Fallout 4 has a damn good character creation system, but we can definitely improve on things and this mod takes so many steps in so many right directions.

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch

This game is so buggy and so glitchy. What do you mean you disagree? LOOK AT THIS SHIT!

Yeah, exactly! With that cleared up you may want to consider patching up some of this RPG's more frustrating glitches; I for one found them infuriating and totally distracting throughout my time in the Wasteland. But this mod aims to be a comprehensive bugfix for Fallout 4.

The goal of the Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch (aka UFO4P) is to eventually fix every bug within the game that's not officially resolved by the developers to the limits of the Creation Kit and community-developed tools, in one easy-to-install package. Now that is quite the undertaking!

Any Mod Any Weapon

SO! You got nice pants, a pleasing physique, a decent gaff, robots guarding your shit, it's pissing rain outside (and it sounds sick), them glitches are disappearing and you actually approve of your own dialogue. Now all you need is GUUUUUUUNS.

This mod will let you build the weapon of your fever dreams. With it you can put any weapon attachment on any weapon, so you can electrify a triple-barreled minigun or splice a Fat Man onto an alien laser pistol. That's a thing. I love video games. I really do.

What mods do you like in Fallout 4?
