Like the last trailer for Fire Emblem Warriors, this latest tease doesn't include a whole lot of gameplay footage, but while this new trailer focuses on the obvious playable characters, we see a lot of subtle hints that suggest where the story is going.
It's Likely The New Characters Are Universe Hopping
While it's heavily implied our new protagonists for this game are jumping from universe to universe collecting warriors for their mission, this trailer almost confirms it. In the trailer we see crucial moments for our Fire Emblem Awakening characters such as the first encounter with Robin and the first fight with Lucina. It appears that the protagonists are jumping to the major points in the same order to pull powerful characters out of the timeline.
Robin Uses Dark Magic
In Fire Emblem Awakening, Robin is unable to use any dark magic. However, when Robin was added to Super Smash Bros. he came equipped with a dark tome. If you look closely at the image above it appears he once again has a dark tome. While it's unclear why he has it, this will likely be explained in the game. This could be a possible story element to incorporate his evil alter ego Grima, since he attacks with dark magic.
You Fight The Enemy With Two Fire Emblems
Just like in Fire Emblem: Awakening, this Fire Emblem is missing the orbs that make up the front of the emblem. The emblem needs all five orbs in order to be useful against the evil dragon they are going up against so it's likely the story will consist of our heroes collecting and restoring the Fire Emblem to its prime.
Let's apply this information to the previously trailer too.
In Fire Emblem: Fates, the Fire Emblem was the Yato, pictured above. But it wasn't officially the Fire Emblem until it was in the presence of four powerful weapons. We've already seen the holders of two of those weapons, Ryoma and Xander, and this blue glow we see above was the form the Yato took when exposed to a weapon held by another character, Takumi, who is yet to be seen in Warriors. It is likely that another part of the story will consist of awakening the powers of the Yato and fighting this unknown enemy with not one, but two fire emblems: The shield and the sword.
So as it appears the main story will follow our protagonists traveling across space and time to recruit major characters associated to the wielders of the shield and sword Fire Emblems. Then the characters will fight to restore them to full power so they can be used simultaneously against the evil dragon.
So what do you think? Is this the story for Fire Emblem: Warriors or are we still missing too much information to tell?
