Gamers of the world, rejoice! You can finally get your mitts on the new Switch in January — that is, if you can get to New York City and beat the queues. Switch has been grabbing headlines since its initial trailer drop, with the intense curiosity about what the console will offer still very much alive and kicking. Nintendo has not given us too many hints about what lies ahead with the Switch, but the reaction to the images and trailers we have been gifted so far have been resoundingly positive. If the compatibility works and the transition from console to handheld is a smooth one, we could be in for one of the best devices ever created.

Limitless Possibilities

Gone are the days of being confined to your room to play video games. Nintendo is offering you the ability to play wherever you want. With a significant battery life installed, this could prove to be a real game changer.

The idea of not having to stop, save and quit your game if you leave the house has left many gamers salivating in anticipation. Simply packing up and carrying your console on your commute is living the dream for avid players. The wide range of games Nintendo is set to offer on the Switch all but increases the excitement for its launch, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim being one that stands out in my mind. I mean, who hasn't fantasized about slaying a dragon while on the train?

The hands-on event will take place in New York City on January 13. Fans will have to arrive early and be prepared for a long wait to get a go on the console. The event will run for just five hours and is set to follow a live-stream out of Tokyo.

Live From Tokyo

The Tokyo presentation is designed with current and potential Switch investors in mind, so that they may view what it is they're funding. The broadcast will enlighten fans, giving them a wealth of new information about what we can expect. Eager gamers around the world will be tuning in to watch what Nintendo has to say and when the console will be released (sometime in March 2017).

The location has yet to be specified for the New York event, but there is strong indication it will be at the Nintendo store near the Rockefeller Center, just off Times Square. The company has said it "will further emphasize some of the details that Nintendo plans to announce.” The world is very excited and I for one cannot wait to see what will be offered.
