The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a beautiful game, and producers CD Projekt Red have set the bar high for developers everywhere with their stunning and immersive open world RPG.
One thing that sets the #Witcher3 apart from the rest is its focus on the meaningful and personal relationships that players can form throughout their quest. This is done while playing as the titular Witcher 'Geralt of Rivia' on his journey through the picturesque landscape of the Northern Realms.
However, relationships can be tricky, and one particular example is the love triangle in The Witcher 3's main story between Geralt, Yennefer, and Triss; and it's had fans divided ever since the game first released. But whether you're #TeamYen or #TeamTriss, there's no doubt you'll want to know some crucial tips for romancing your sorceress of choice!
So, here's the ultimate guide to navigating The Witcher 3's very tricky love triangle:
How To Seduce Triss
In order to romance ravishing redhead Triss Merigold, there are a couple of very important choices you're going to have to make during two particular quests— 'Now or Never', and 'A Matter of Life And Death'.
'A Matter of Life And Death' will be the first quest you come across, and it'll unlock soon after meeting Triss in Novigrad during your progress in the main story, specifically after you complete the quest 'Count Reuven's Treasure'.
I won't spoil anything major about the quest, but the thing you need to know is that Geralt and Triss will attend a masquerade ball. Near the end of this ball, Geralt and Triss will stop to watch the fireworks, and during this sequence you must kiss Triss! This is a timed event, so hesitate for too long and you lose your chance for good.
By kissing Triss during this scene, you'll set yourself up to seal the deal during the quest 'Now or Never'. Once again, without spoiling any major details about the quest, Geralt will help Triss with a particularly dangerous task back in Novigrad.
First of all during the quest, make sure to defend the mages, this will get you into Triss's good books. Then, at the docks near the end of the quest, tell Triss that you love her when the dialogue choices appear.
Provided you've done all of the above, Triss will be falling into your arms in no time!
How To Seduce Yennefer!
To romance sassy sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg, you'll also need to make some key choices during the quests 'The King Is Dead: Long Live The King', 'The Last Wish', and 'No Place Like Home'.
The first quest, 'The King Is Dead: Long Live The King', will take place when you arrive at Skellige. You'll be asked to attend a wake after a funeral, and Yennefer will request that you put on some better-looking clothes -- Witcher armor doesn't smell too great, ok? Make sure that you put on the formal attire, this will impress Yennefer when you meet her at the gates to Kaer Trolde.
Near the end of this quest, a timed dialogue option will appear during a particularly tricky dilemma (shhh, no spoilers!), and during this, make sure to choose the option which mentions kissing Yennefer. If you do this right, you'll end up being teleported away to witness the infamous unicorn scene (Witcher 3 fans, you know what that means...).
However the most important quest in your pursuit of Yennefer comes near the end of the Skellige story-arc: 'The Last Wish'. During the quest, Geralt and Yennefer will go searching for a particular creature which Yennefer wishes to find. I won't spoil anything else, because this quest is brilliant, and a very important part of Geralt's story. However, what I can tell you is that at the end of the quest, you must tell Yennefer you love her if you want to win her over completely. Fail to do this, and your chance is gone for good.
Finally, provided you've already been romancing Yennefer, you can have another...erm... 'encounter' with her during the quest 'No Place Like Home'. In order to trigger this event, just go with Yennefer to her room after dinner, because obviously you both need a nice long nap. Yeah, let's go with that...
I Can't Decide! Well Whatever, I'll Just Choose Both Of Them...
Can't decide if you're #TeamTriss or #TeamYen? Well, you could always romance both! Though as the old saying goes, "Hell Hath No Fury Like A Woman Scorned", and this particularly applies to the love triangle in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
If you make the decision to tell both Triss and Yennefer that you love them, then first of all, I have to say you're the bravest person I know. Secondly, at a later section in the game you'll receive the quest 'It Takes Three To Tango'. Once again, I won't spoil this quest for you, but just go along with it. Believe me, it's not wise to double cross one sorceress, let alone two of them...
