Bored of driving the same old GTA V cars? Looking for an upgrade? No, I'm not talking about the Los Santos Customs. I'm talking about a military fighter jet that can get you from A to B, and then once you're at B, you can turn around and blow everything up with your dual cannons and lock-on missiles. Come at me bro.
Your Guide On How To Steal A Military Fighter Jet In 'GTA V'
The P-996 Lazer jet, the third military jet available in the #GTA series, looks like a straight-up mutation of a real life F-16 and a Eurofighter Typhoon, and is an absolute beast of a machine. However, as you can imagine, Rockstar didn't want to make it too easy for us to tame it. It took me quite a few attempts to finally get to and then inside the cockpit, but that's just the beginning. Here's your expert guide on how to steal the #GTAV jet, plus some tips on on getting your hands on some other awesome vehicles!
What Is The 'GTA 5' Jet's Location And How Do I Get To It?
First thing's first. Where is the GTA V jet? As you can see on the map above there is a big blank space between where the player is and the coast, that's where Fort Zancudo is. Fort Zacundo is a pretty heavily fortified and defended military base where you can find all sorts of cool things, including the P-966 Lazer jet (the more I say it, the more it's starting to sound like the name of a printer).
There are a few different routes into the compound, all of which involve using vehicles and the terrain. For the first, you're gonna need to get yourself up to the northern part of the motorway to the north of the Fort. Have a scout around and look for the earth ramp to the righthand side of the tunnel. Yep, that's how you're getting in—you're gonna have to trust me on this one.
The next step is to find a seriously fast car. For me, it was really difficult to find any fast cars in this area because they just don't seem to spawn around here. It's great if you can, but if not then you'll have to go farther afield and bring one back. Once you've sorted out your ride, drive for about 30 seconds further north, turn around and then drive back aiming right for that earth ramp. There's one particular line you'll need to take up the ramp, and it lies slightly to the right. Believe me, it might take a few attempts.
So, the second method I recommend is a bit more dangerous, but it will get you a good overview of the base before you touch down. This method includes flying a helicopter over the base and then jumping out while trying to avoid incoming missiles. I didn't say it was easy. The problem with this method is that it will push your wanted level up almost immediately, whereas the ramp method will give you a few precious extra seconds.
Due to the fact that this is a military base, it means these guys are going to notice a helicopter or a plane suspiciously flying around pretty quickly. Therefore, in order to increase your rate of survival, the best thing you can do is be as quick as possible. Don't spend too long looking for the best spot, just aim as close as you can for the rectangles you can see in the screenshot above.
Finding The Military Jet And Getting Out Of The Base
Once you're inside Fort Zancundo you'll have to be quick because all hell is about to break loose. Whether you landed in your car or with a parachute, your next step will be to reach either one of the big hangars or the rectangles we saw just outside the hangars. At this point you'll have at least 4 starts. You should be able to see a jet sitting outside the hangar, but if not then there will be one inside the hangar for sure.
Jump in the cockpit and get out of there! The sooner you leave their airspace the better. The military base will fire some homing missiles at you which you'll hear through a beeping sound. When they get close, you have to sort of pull a hand brake turn using RB and the analogue stick. Keep pulling these maneuvers until there are none left.
If the base scrambled another jet to take you down then it's time for some classic dogfighting. Maneuverability is key here, which means don't go too quick that you can't turn. Make sure to always keep the enemy in your sights and when you've locked on then blast them to pieces using the cannons. It takes some practice and some sacrifice, but the P-996 jet is totally worth it.
With that out of the way, let's take a look at some other awesome vehicles!
How Do I Get The 'GTA V' Submarine?
The Submersible in GTA V is a small underwater vehicle that'll allow you to sneak around while harassing some aquatic life. Luckily, this special vehicle is much easier to get a hold of than the P-996 military jet. Unluckily, you'll have to wait until about half way through the main game until you can unlock it. After purchasing the Sonar Collections Dock, the Submersible comes completely free.
How Do I Get The Adder In 'GTA V'?
The Adder is one of the fastest cars in GTA V, giving players the ability to pick up some pretty blinding speeds. It's quite obviously based on the Bugatti Veyron in shape and performance, which means it is fast, expensive and pretty rare. Despite its rarity, it is actually pretty simple to get a hold of this speed machine. Head over to "Sessanta Nove" at Portola Drive, Rockford Hills and you should see the Adder spawned outside. If it isn't there, then drive around a bit or reload and come back.
With these secret vehicles you'll fly higher, sink deeper and drive faster than ever before in GTA V. Although getting the military jet in GTA V is a tough ask, I thoroughly recommend it, as it is by far the most exciting vehicle in the game. Have fun!
