Kingdom Hearts fans were recently left in a bit of stupor after the Xbox One logo was removed from the Kingdom Hearts 3 website, which led to theories and fears that the title may skip the beleaguered console and become yet another PS4 exclusive, like Kingdom Hearts 2.8.

But, as revealed on ICXM, it was all a simple mistake, according to Kingdom Hearts publisher Square Enix. The game is still on track to release on Xbox One, though the exact KH3 release date is still anybody's guess.

So Kingdom Hearts 3 will launch on Xbox One, but when? Square Enix artist, designer and director Tetsuya Nomura, recently spoke to Famitsu. Though vague, his comments did touch upon the current state of KH3:

The production process is different than what we’ve had up until now, so I can’t just give you a general idea, but I can say that there are worlds that still remain untouched. We’ve advanced on the production of worlds that have yet to be announced, so we can’t show them for now. As far as development status goes, there’s still a ways to go.

You can't really blame fans for raising concerns over the disappearance of the Xbox One logo from the Kingdom Hearts 3 website. Xbox One has had a topsy turvy time of late, what with the eagerly-awaited Scalebound being cancelled out of nowhere. But Microsoft's console has been selling well, so that's some recompense, I guess?

Looking forward to Kingdom Hearts 3?
