Kingdom Hearts 3 is, surprise surprise, not coming out anytime soon. The (not really) new information comes to us from a Famitsu interview with game director Tetsuya Nomura. Of course, given that it's been almost 11 years since the last numbered installment, this isn't really news to anyone. But, obviously, it's still incredibly depressing for those of us who wanted a Christmas 2017 release.
However, maybe a delayed release is a good thing for us Kingdom Hearts fans.
More Time To Play The Other Games
Lets be real, it's now been 15 years since the first game, and now that we're gonna have every single installment on the PS4, a delayed release will give fans time to both purchase the 1.5 and 2.5 PS4 combo release in march, and the highly anticipated (for me) Kingdom Hearts 2.8.
If my hopes are met, then we'll be getting the elusive third (or, more accurately, 15th) installment sometime in 2018. Which, if we're gonna be completely honest, isn't all that bad. Sure it's a solid 12 years after the last numbered installment, but we'll have more than enough content to hold us over until then.
Unlock All Of The Secret Movies
(Almost) Every Kingdom Hearts game has a secret ending that is only unlocked after meeting certain requirements, said requirement usually being 100% completion, but on higher difficulties it is slightly easier (but it's also 1,000,000,000x harder so continue at your own risk).
These secret movies often help tie the story together, and help connect each installment in the franchise. While they're not always necessary to get the gist of the complete story, it's always a nice little trophy none the less. It's also incredibly important if you intend to learn all about the story and really gain a deep understanding.
Of course, you can always just go on YouTube and find the secret endings too, but that's not as fun.
Play (And Complete) Kingdom Hearts Unchained: Chi
The latest installment in the massive #Disney and #FinalFantasy crossover is a free mobile game, which that alone should really make people go get it. The story takes place before the Keyblade War, and you get to design your own character, compete in the Coliseum, go through a really long story (that's still being updated), compete in weekly rankings, compete in High Score Challenges. Probably best of all, you can also get super confused as to how the hell people can get so much lux in one week.
Now, yes it sucks that we won't be seeing Kingdom Hearts 3 in 2017, but hey, at least that means we'll probably finish the story of KHUX before it arrives, so that means I won't have to divide my time between the two!
Are you super excited for Kingdom Hearts 3? Do you wish it would release, like, tomorrow (because I do.)? Let us know in the comments!
