Ok, let me be straight, I'm a casual Mass Effect player, and I call myself that because I did not play the games more than once. Not because they aren't great games, but because I'm just not the kind of person who likes to play something more than once. However, I am in love with the series, and even more so is my other half who has lots of Mass Effect items. He recently sent me a link to the new 4K trailer for Mass Effect: Andromeda, and it made me gape.
Behold, The Beauty!
If you haven't watched it, you should watch it above. Experience it for yourself before you read why I'm so awestruck with it. Set the resolution to 4K for best results (obviously).
The visuals in this trailer give us a glimpse into what an eyegasm the game is going to be, and my mind goes a little wild when I think about how possibly all this beauty can be even experienced through a VR headset. I'm probably going to be wrong, but just think about it. The details, the textures, the depths.... Mass Effect: Andromeda is going to be an adventure that feels realer than any previous Mass Effect game. And I am totally okay with that!
Pushing aside the visuals, the setting in the trailer gives me the impression that the game is going to be very interesting; it gives you the same vibe as the previous games but just enough newness to make it feel like the universe has evolved quite a bit. It may be set in a new galaxy (and judging by the previous trailer, a rocky and sandy one for the most part), but it still gives me the Mass Effect tingles, which I'm sure most other fans would feel too. Also, the bridge building itself gave me a Transistor vibe (anyone else agree with me?).
It's good to see our good old friendly alien species again, and to see a team which gives the air of trust and reliability. The radio contact made me miss Joker so much (obviously not the DC Joker, I hope that's clear), because I enjoyed his banter the most in the previous games. I hope he'll show up somewhere in this game, even as just an Easter egg. Also, the suits look great, and I'm glad they still look a lot like the suits in the previous games. Also, I'm dying to know who that Asari is, and especially if I can have a romance with her (damn she's hot!).
All the reasons above left me dizzy with excitement and I hope the game comes out really soon. Can't wait to start this new chapter of the Mass Effect world!
