Okay so you've already gotten an idea of which class, or classes, will best suit your playstyle in Mass Effect: Andromeda, but the sheer amount of abilities that are available to your Pathfinder is a little overwhelming.

Returning to the Mass Effect universe are the Combat, Biotic and Tech skill trees, all of which contain a vast array of abilities to support your team and make your Pathfinder an invaluable asset on the battlefield. But which are the best abilities to focus you attention and experience points on?

'Mass Effect: Andromeda' - The Best Skills For Every Class

Below you will find every combat, biotic and tech ability for your Pathfinder. And, in order to stave off a little of the confusion that comes from having such an extensive skill set, here are the skills you should be attempting to max out as soon as possible.

  • Barricade (Combat): Use this to create a shield for you and your party to shelter behind. Later Barricade will offer perks to party shield regeneration, invaluable for exploration.
  • Combat Fitness (Combat): Offers subtle boosts to Ryder's health, shields, ammo capacity and even gives you an extra weapon holster. Will offer huge perks when leveled up later.
  • Concussive Shot (Combat): Fires a round that knocks enemies off their feet. Very useful and very funny, even at its lowest rank. Can be used with combo primers
  • Pull (Biotics): This ability suspends unarmored and unshielded enemies into the air, leaving them primed for a combo move. Holding the corresponding button will allow you to drag an enemy or an object around with you.
  • Shockwave (Biotics): This insane ability sends a line of destructive energy in your preferred direction, obliterating enemies in its path. Perfect for dispatching a goons found hiding behind something like the filthy opportunists they are. Oh and it loves detonating combos too.
  • Throw (Biotics): Throw a gravity field at an unshielded or unarmored enemy and send them flying. Can be used in combos and in tandem with Pull to throw held enemies.
  • Incinerate (Tech): Sets enemies on fire. Great against armor and is perfect for setting up combos.
  • Overload (Tech): This brilliant ability unleashes an electronic discharge at an enemy that greatly damages its shields. Is super effective against synthetic enemies too. Hold down the corresponding button to chain two or more enemies together.
