Yep, you read that correctly. Mass Effect: Andromeda is already on sale at a couple retailers.

If you're wondering why, take a look at our review article from earlier this week. As you can guess, Andromeda is a pretty divisive game. Some reviewers feel it follows up the original trilogy decently enough, whereas others think it's essentially a major flop in its current state.

Mass Effect fans are just as conflicted, too, with most agreeing that it doesn't quite reach the heights of the original triology. No one can truly agree whether it's worth buying Andromeda at $60 right now or better to grab on sale down the road.

Of course, if you're wondering where you can pick up your discounted copy of Mass Effect: Andromeda, there's actually a few places to look. Amazon, Newegg, and more make up this list. Check it out:

Newegg is pretty noteworthy for their eBay deals. Back when Dark Souls III came out, the team hosted an eBay PlayStation 4 console bundle that was basically the same price as a refurbished console. It was excellent at the time. And this Mass Effect: Andromeda listing is pretty great, too.

For $47.99, Newegg is offering both the Mass Effect: Andromeda PlayStation 4 version as well as the Xbox One release on sale. The deal is pretty good, with over 370 watching it, and over 90 copies sold. Keep in mind that there's only limited quantities available, so don't sit on this deal if you like the price.

If you're looking for the discounted version of Mass Effect: Andromeda's deluxe edition, then Amazon has you covered. Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One releases are on sale, bumping down the price from $69.99 to $60.93. It's not quite as good as the Newegg deal, but if you're willing to put down the extra $13 for an upgrade, then it's actually pretty sweet on Amazon's part.

UK readers, there's a great deal going on right now for Andromeda if you're willing to purchase online. ShoptTo.Net features Mass Effect: Andromeda on sale for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at £43.85, down from the standard £54.99 asking price. That's a 20% drop.

Granted, we don't necessarily recommend this deal for US residents. But if you're looking for a deal in the United Kingdom, or you're staying in the country for an extended period of time, we recommend checking this one out.

Green Man Gaming

Green Man Gaming has been known for pretty cheap game deals for new titles, and Mass Effect: Andromeda isn't any different. The site is offering a VIP discount at $47.99. Non-VIP users can go ahead and get the PC version at $49.99 either way, which is still a pretty strong cut compared to the $60 asking price at most places.

Keep in mind, GMG is a key retailer, so what you're paying for is explicitly the game. Nothing else. If you like goodies or boxes, look elsewhere.

Best Place to Buy?

OK, but who should you buy from? This question largely comes down to which platform you want to play on. For convenience's sake, here's our final judgment call.

  • If you're a PlayStation 4 or Xbox One player, go with Newegg. The price is strong, and Andromeda's future sales will probably hover around $47.99, so it's worth grabbing the game now before it's unavailable.
  • If you want the deluxe edition, go with Amazon or wait for a further price drop.
  • If you're a PC gamer, Green Man Gaming is OK for the time being. We recommend waiting, though, until the deep cuts start popping up.
