Sony has officially revealed the hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 Pro. The super console, formerly known as the PS4 Neo is the most powerful gaming console ever developed.

The PS4 Pro has twice the computing power of the original launch PS4, it supports 4K gaming as well as incorporating full HDR compatibility as standard. This all lends to the highest amount of pixels ever seen on one screen ported from a console. More pixels means higher resolution, better graphics and an overall far more immersive gaming experience.

Revealed last night in New York, the new PS4 Pro will release November 10 for $399.99. As part of the showcase Sony demonstrated the PS4’s prowess by allowing us the privilege of following Bioware through an exclusive gameplay demonstration of the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda.

The gameplay follows the protagonist, Ryder and his crew through a particularly cavernous environment as they throw casual banter back and forth. The team are seen to investigate many a secretive element in the demo but are eventually forced out of the area by a mysterious alien drone.

According to a video blog with BioWare’s general manager, Aaryn Flynn, the team are working with the frostbite engine to maximize the PS4 Pro’s computing power.

Flynn also revealed that this coming N7 day will be used to ‘officially open the doors to the next chapter of the Mass Effect universe’ by releasing the most explanatory trailer to date.

There is a rumour that the protagonists will be brother and sister. Mass Effect: Andromeda is expected to release early 2017 with full PS4 Pro compatibility. The game will also release on Xbox One and PC.
