True, the Ice Plains biome isn't the most bountiful world around. When you type in these Minecraft snow/tundra seeds, you're entering a challenging world that doesn't present many opportunities for survival. But that's part of the fun: exploring the occasional dungeon or stronghold becomes so much more challenging when there aren't many resources available in the snowy plains.

So if you're interested in exploring a seed that mixes snow and tundra to form the Ice Plains, don't worry. We've got you covered.

Before Beginning Your Adventure

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.

As always, these seeds come with a disclaimer. While some seeds are relatively interchangeable between Minecraft versions, it's always best to use an update or edition that coincides with the original founder's version. In other words, if a seed was found by a player using the PlayStation version of Minecraft, then the Xbox version might have minuscule (and not-so-minuscule) differences that prevent players from experiencing the seed the same way. When in doubt, go with the original edition supplied.

For your convenience, we've gone ahead and included the recommended version alongside the seed itself. So don't worry about trying to pick the right platform: we've done all the work for you there.

Ice Plains are perfect because they have a ton of wonderful structures to check out, explore, and gaze. This seed found at Minecraft Seeds is perfect for an Ice Plains biome for exactly that reason: there's a ton of ice spikes to check out as you spawn and as you continue to explore the plains. Definitely go fire up this seed if you want a quick adventure.

A Wintery Exploration

This Ice Plains biome is perfect for exploring a beautiful winter world. Minecraft Forum user nitweed originally found it, and we already love the seed's description. According to them, this seed features "picturesque, serene and endless fields of snow" to wander, which sounds excellent for any sort of snow/tundra biome seed.

Thanks to the fact that this seed features very few geographical obstacles, nitweed also recommends this seed for using Minecraft Forge mods.

Before you jump in, though, remember to set the world to "large biomes" for this one to work.

Lil' Structures Seed

Isn't that igloo just adorable?
Isn't that igloo just adorable?

Minecraft: Pocket Edition always has some interesting seeds, and the game's Snow/Tundra biome seeds are no different. This Ice Plains mix features all sorts of little igloos to check out, perfect for surviving the icy cold throughout your Minecraft adventure. You can even grab a red torch and warm up by the furnace, too. Sometimes, the little things make a seed great, and this one is perfect for just that reason.

Hot and Cold Seed

It's hot, cold, and sandy in here.

We love this seed from Epic Minecraft Seeds. Apparently, this one combines a Mesa biome with an Ice Plains biome, and the two are side-by-side (save for a little bit of sand). In other words, you can choose whether you want a hot or cold adventure straight from the start. Pretty cool, huh?

The best part about this seed? There's a ton of gold in the Mesa, and the Ice Plains has a lot of ice spikes to check out. Pretty rad. Definitely give it a look if you get the chance.
