Did you watch Power Rangers growing up? Do you long for simpler times when corny-as-hell cartoons were the standard and every episode ended with a Very Important lesson? Then buckle up, the newly released trailer for the upcoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mega Battle game is seeped in nostalgia.
Complete with overly dramatic announcer and giant robots, the trailer reveals a game that aims to be a "re-imaging of the classic multiplayer beat-em-up." Seriously, Bandai Namco clearly knows what their audience is after with a Power Rangers game, and they deliver.
The game is going to be a side-scrolling multiplayer. You'll be able to play with friends and work together to pull of some sick combo moves.
Plus, you'll apparently be able to team up against a mega-sized robot foot.
The Trailer Arrives Just In Time For The Premiere Of Footage From The Upcoming Film
If you're up for even more Power Rangers news, then don't forget that there is a movie in the works, set to release in March. But more importantly, it's likely we'll see official trailers premiering for the movie at the New York Comic-Con in the coming days. Two different Power Rangers trailers is no coincidence, as the game and movie are likely being used to promote one another.
The movie, of course, will be a bit different than the game — this is Hollywood after all. Hopefully, however, none of these stars end up following in the footsteps of a certain Red Ranger who was actually accused of murder last year.
All in all, it looks like we'll be getting a healthy dose of Power Rangers in 2017. And if you're not about the corny, friendship-over-all style of the original series and upcoming game, then the movie may still entertain.
The Power Rangers game officially releases for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles in January. In the meantime, you can get your nostalgia-rific fill from the trailer below:
