Guys, calm down, no need to freak out.
Ok, screw that, just go freaking crazy! Because Nintendo just confirmed that Game Freak is working on a full, proper, untitled RPG #Pokemon title for the Nintendo Switch!
After months of speculation that Game Freak have been developing Pokemon Stars, a rumored third installment in the Pokemon Sun & Moon region of Alola, built entirely for the #NintendoSwitch, Nintendo have finally confirmed that a new game is in development.
Last month, players were let down when a Pokemon direct stream announced a new set of games, Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, and many gave up on the dream that Pokemon Stars could ever actually happen.
And then came #E3.
Reach For The Stars... In 2018
At their highly anticipated E3 2017 conference, #Nintendo dropped a bombshell on us. Game Freak, the acclaimed developer behind Pokemon game franchise, is working on a full RPG Pokemon game for the Ninteno Switch.
Now, now, wait. Don't get too excited just yet. There's a catch.
Despite confirming that the game is in production, Nintendo teased fans by not confirming the name, the setting, or basically any information about the game, other than "it's in development" and that it doesn't have a name yet. But, they did say one useful thing, to satisfy the hunger of gamers yearning to hear more about the game. And that information is that the new Pokemon title will not be coming out until 2018 at the earliest, and will supposedly arrive in just over a year.
To some, this may seem like a very long wait, and they wouldn't be wrong. But on the bright side, this means that the game may not be your usual Pokemon experience. Could we see a bigger, more expansive open world Pokemon experience coming to the Nintendo Switch? It seems we'll just have to wait and see...
Do you think the new Pokemon game for the Switch will be a totally different Pokemon experience? Let us know in the comments below!
