Outlast 2 debuted their free demo today, offering up a taste of the new survival horror game just in time for Halloween. It's available across all platforms on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and you have until November 1 to download the demo. Don't worry though, the time restriction is only for downloading and you'll be able to still play it even after November 1.

You can download the Outlast 2 demo with the following links:

The official gameplay came out way back in April, so this demo is certainly welcome, especially after the release date was delayed. Originally intended for late this year, it was moved to the first quarter of 2017.

Coming 4 years after the original Outlast, Outlast 2 introduces you to new character Blake Langermann, a cameraman and journalist investigating a mysterious murder with his wife. The story takes place in the Sonoran desert in Arizona and hints at a terrifying supernatural element.

The game is available for NA now and is being added to EU stores as I write this. Keep an eye on @TheRedBarrels for developer updates about the demo and full game.

While the full game is still a ways off, October is the perfect month for horror games. So if the demo doesn't satisfy your scary needs, check out 5 other scary games with good stories and the top horror games that released this year. Make sure you play with the lights on.
