Would you eat a Pikachu burger? That's what many hungry Pokémon fans had to ask themselves as they stood in line to get their hands on Down N' Out's new line of Poké-burgers in Sydney. I believe the answer was a resounding "YES!" no matter how much the little buggers stared at you with their imploring eyes, adorable noses, and mountains of gooey, melted cheese.

So... much... cheese...
So... much... cheese...

These Poké-themed patties of vein-clogging goodness caused quite a stir upon their release (and Down N' Out even launched a city-wide Pokémon scavenger hunt that awarded fans with free burgers delivered straight to the doorsteps!), but they're not the first Pokémon-inspired food crazes to sweep the globe. Pokémon meals, snacks, cakes, and goodies of all shapes and sizes (both official and unofficial) have been appearing on dinner tables around the world since Pokémon first hit the shelves in the 90s.

Because we can't get our hands on those tasty burgers ourselves, we thought we'd do the next best thing—look up some of the cutest, craziest, wackiest, and tastiest-looking Pokémon-themed culinary creations ever to grace the interwebz.

To make these Poké-treats will be your real test... to taste them will be your cause.

If you've ever been to Japan, you've probably seen this tasty treat waiting to be plucked off convenience store shelves (well, in decidedly less Squirtle-esque form). "Melon pan" is a cheap, delicious snack made from a bread roll topped with a thin layer of cookie dough and sugar (and sometimes chocolate chips, too!). As if that weren't enticing enough, someone's made their own Squirtle versions of the sugary snack. Can I order twenty?

Defense-up donuts

Who can't resist a donut in the morning? Even those who normally try to refrain themselves from these breakfast sugar bombs might find themselves tempted by these adorable Pokémon nuts of the dough variety. All our favorite 'mons make an appearance, and each one looks tastier than the next. Someone should suggest these to Dunkin' Donuts!

Poké pizza

Let's leave behind the confectionaries for a moment and get those mouths salivating. Pizza night will reach a whole new level of excitement when your pizza comes Pokéfied!

And don't worry—if you've got a big group, you can always order an extra-large...

Obscene.

Repel hunger with ramen!

If you're in need of something a little quicker, however, why not grab some instant noodles?

Time- and cost-efficient! Plus there's nothing sure to whet your appetite more than mini-fish paste chips with Pikachu's face on them.

Let's sweeten things back up with these Pikachu-styled sugar cookies complete with frosting faces and striped... Pikachu boots? Okay, I'm not quite sure what those are, but they're cute all the same.

No one can resist a Marshmallow Peep! Originally an Easter treat, you can now find Peep variations for almost any occasion, so why shouldn't they come in Poké-Peep variety, as well? Nab yourself some of the yellow ones to make these shockingly tasty treats for the Pikachu fan in your life.

Savory sandwiches

There are so many ways to spice up lunch time! Why not put a Pokémon spin on your child's sandwich (or your own—we don't judge). You'd be amazed at what a little bit of cheese and tomato can become with just the right touch.

Here's a yolk: what's yellow and round and Pika all over? Why, a Pikachu-over-easy, of course! I'm not sure how I'd feel about watching Pikachu's face run all over, though... Maybe I should go for scrambled Pika instead.

Taiyaki is a tasty Japanese street snack usually consisting of sweetened red bean paste baked inside a soft, fish-shaped cake. Given their already fishy appearance, it's not too much of a stretch to give Magicarp-shaped taiyaki a try! The little red fish we all love to hate has never looked so delicious.

Uh-oh, Spagettios! This canned blast from the past featured all our favorite Pokémon characters dunked in a light tomato sauce for the most exciting lunchtime ever. Too bad they don't make them any more...

There's nothing better than an ice cream cone on a hot summer's day... unless that ice cream cone is shaped like some of our favorite Pokémon! These little cones are so happy to see you, you might not even be able to bring yourself to eat them! But I'd hazard a guess they won't be as cute once they start to melt...

The only thing better than a cupcake is twelve cupcakes... especially if they're Pokémon-themed! What I would have given to have had these for my seventh birthday. Just look at all that sweet, sugary frosting...

Or if you're looking for a less literal take on mini Poké-cakes, why not go for something more subtle?

While we're on the topic of cakes, why not "pop" on over to these Pokéfectionaries? Pokéball cake pops! Even the insides have donned the iconic red and white colors of these critter-containing balls o' plenty.

Pokémon cakes abound all over the Internet, but my favorites are always the ones where you actually feel like you're eating a Pokémon (call me morbid). There's just something about slowly cutting in the body of a happy Pokémon and feeding on its chocolately innards that will truly make you feel like a Pokémon master. This Togepi cake looks equal parts adorable and delicious... the perfect combination!

All these pictures of food are beginning to make ravenous, so I'll have to cut this off before I eat my monitor, but there's still a whole wealth of Pokémon-inspired foods out there for the intrepid Pokémon connoisseur to enjoy. Whether you try making some of them yourself or simply order a cake at your nearest bakery, you'll find that adding Pokémon to mealtimes will really spice things up!

It's time to chow down, Pokémon fans.
