The world has been eagerly awaiting Red Dead Redemption 2 and today Rockstar Games dropped new footage for the highly anticipated game. After the events of the original adventure, people were asking a lot of questions as to the direction this new title would take and who would be involved in the main storyline. We now have answers to that and more, including an updated release date window.
Check out the trailer below:
Rockstar describes the game as:
"The story of outlaw Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang as they rob, fight and steal their way across the vast and rugged heart of America in order to survive."
The new trailer reveals who is presumably our new playable protagonist, Arthur Morgan, an apparent debt collector traveling across the wilderness. Morgan, approaching a seated man, asks:
You got some money for me boy? I've seen your name on our ledger.
Morgan seems to be a member of Dutch's gang, though whether he (and we) will be crossing paths with John Marston again is unclear, although likely.
In the trailer we see footage of some saloon brawls and what looks like a bank scene robbery.
We also get a glimpse of the animal hunting which will make a return, with the main character using a bow and arrow and pursuing a wild grizzly bear -- hopefully it will not end up as badly as it did in The Revenant.
The trailer is slim on gameplay details and plot points but it does give us a taste of the unforgiving, lawless nature of Rockstar's Wild West. It's good to be back.
Red Dead Redemption 2's release date has been set for Spring 2018 and we cannot wait to see more from the game!
