If there's one thing you can say about Rockstar's fans, it's that they're dedicated. Resourceful too, it turns out, as they've recently managed to put their unbelievable detective skills to use uncovering the cast of the upcoming sequel to #RedDeadRedemption.
The Cast Of 'Red Dead Redemption 2' May Have Been Confirmed By Resourceful Fans
The investigation began when actor Matt Bradford accidentally listed on Actors Access that he'd performed voice and motion capture work for Dutch in Red Dead Redemption 2. The listing was quickly taken down, but speedy fans managed to capture a screenshot of the evidence. Not only does this seemingly confirm his involvement, it also fuels fan rumors that the game may be a prequel, as Dutch commits suicide during the first game's campaign—he was also a member of John Marston's old gang of miscreants.
Astute #Rockstar followers quickly began scouring the internet for any more clues as to who might be cast in the long-awaited sequel. They spotted a listing on the resume of actor Roger Grunwald, stating that he'd done motion capture work for a German Psychiatrist named Menchen. Again, the listing was swiftly scoured from the internet, but not before folks managed to preserve the evidence. Could be a member of the gang seen in the trailer and promotional material, huh?
But fans didn't stop there.
Six (Shooter) Degrees Of Separation, More Actors Found Through Social Network Links
A member of the Grand Theft Auto Forums, who goes by the name Neudd, managed to dig up even more details by following the various social network links of the returning actors from the previous entries in the franchise—turns out old Red Dead voice actors were adding each other on social media, further backing the rumor that RDR2 is a prequel!
Perhaps the most significant find was Irish-American actor Roger Clark, who may be playing the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption 2. His IMDb account confirms his involvement, but there's no character name attached as of yet, but that's some fine detective work right there!
Additionally, Clark had suddenly followed all the returning voice actors from the previous game on Twitter at the end of January this year, then soon after had connected with them on LinkedIn. His YouTube account had also been uncovered, where he'd liked a video speculating that he'd be in the game. Not only does Clark resemble the illustration of our new protagonist that Rockstar released, but his voice sounds eerily like the voice-over on the trailer. Coincidence?!
Looks Like 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Is A Prequel
Next, actress Cali Moore, who still has Red Dead Redemption 2 listed as a credit on her profile, was spotted as being linked with the returning cast and Roger Clark. Gabriel Ceron, of Narcos fame, was also linked with the rest of the cast. Lastly actor Noshir Dalal, who has previously worked on the #VideoGames Fallout 4 and Uncharted 4, was spotted. Soon after the links were found, most of the actors involved added Red Dead Redemption 2 to their IMDB pages. So far only Dalal is still unconfirmed.
Since there's only one of the seven main characters from the official art now unconfirmed, could Dalal be the final actor? We'll have to wait and see. But it looks like we're gearing up for a prequel to the events of Red Dead Redemption, folks!
