Famed for their adventure game adaptations of popular film and TV franchises, developer Telltale Games has announced follow up seasons for three of their licensed properties.
Check out their #SDCC announcement video below:
Telltale's Batman: The Enemy Within will begin its episodic release schedule this August, though you'll have to wait until 2018 for The Walking Dead: The Final Season and The Wolf Among Us Season 2.
Telltale's Batman: The Enemy Within
Telltale continue their Gotham chronicles with a second season of branching narratives and brooding dialogue options. According to the developers we're going to spend a lot more time playing as Bruce Wayne, which makes for a nice contrast to Rocksteady's Dark-Knight-centric Arkham series.
From the brief snippets of gameplay shown, Telltale's Batman: The Enemy Within looks set to focus on proto-Joker John Doe, held up in Arkham Asylum. Of course, the real draw here is the large degree of player choice in deciding what kind of anti-hero you want to play. As starring voice actor Troy Baker asks:
The billionaire or the bat; which mask will you wear?
Telltale's Batman: The Enemy Within premieres this August.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season
A journey that began back in 2012 is finally drawing to a close, and if we've learnt anything from the past three seasons it's going to be an emotional goodbye. Five years ago Telltale blew the industry away with their take on Robert Kirkman's #TheWalkingDead comic book series, introducing us to a young girl we've seen grow up all too fast.
Of course, you'll play as Clem in the fourth and final season as she continues to cope with survivor's guilt. After season 2's gut-wrenching ending things started looking up for our heroine, finding a functioning family, rebuilding relationships and learning to trust again. We'll have to wait until next year to see whether her end will be a happy one.
The Wolf Among Us Season 2
Much to the delight of fans, the Big Bad Wolf is back in this grizzly cell-shaded noir. Returning to the neon-drenched streets of Fabletown, the sequel to The Wolf Among Us is sure to please players of the much-adored original. However, little else is known about the project right now, which won't hit until 2018.
Which new Telltale series, if any, are you most excited for?
