Fan videos keep getting better and better. We're not sure if the filmmakers were celebrating Majora's Mask impeding release on Wii U's Virtual Console, or if they just felt like doing this because, but Ember Lab released an absolutely haunting origin story today.

The short film titled "Terrible Fate," focuses on Skull Kid and how he became the antagonist of #MajorasMask that we came to know. It's downright creepy.

What we wonder is if animation teams like this should be hired by developers. You have to admit that this film is pretty slick, and for how underdeveloped some game franchises are from a lore perspective, this type of short could go a long way to winning over the hearts of gamers.

If Nintendo ever did decide to do films, this style could be one way for them to go about it.
