Thanksgiving is gone and #BlackFriday has passed us by, so that can mean only one thing: Christmas is around the corner! In celebration of its 30th birthday this year, #Ubisoft has decided to treat us to a plethora of gaming gifts over the festive season, kicking off on November 24 with the classic mobile application #Rayman, free for anyone who wishes to download it.

The gaming giant will be releasing a series of games and digital assets, some of which will be generously discounted or free to play. All you need to claim this offer is create an account on the website 30days.ubi.com and you'll receive a free gift every day until the December 23. This offer might just be the antidote to that typical holiday boredom we're all used to experiencing.

There will also be the chance to win free games via a series of competitions. While it's yet to be specified what the winners will receive, it's been teased by Ubisoft that one of the prizes will be a newer game.

UbiBlog writer Phil Smith explains:

We wanted to try and find a little something for everyone, young and young at heart alike. Planned giveaways include Rayman Classic for mobile, special holiday decorations, and a special 300 Game Giveaway! That’s right, 300 copies of three of our latest titles (one game per person, first-come first-served) will be up for grabs as part of the festivities! We’ll also be giving away unique goodies, ranging from cocktail recipes to DIY projects for the whole family.

Filling In The Cracks

Is this a calculated move by Ubisoft to repair some of its damaged reputation? Several of its most recent titles have underperformed, including the high-profile #Watchdogs2, which saw its sales plummet after its first week of release.

With the negative press Ubisoft has been receiving, you can see why this deal is likely to favor the company. While I for one have already happily downloaded Rayman, the success of this festive season campaign will depend on the content Ubisoft offers.
