[Update: Three others have now joined the hallowed D.D. master ranks by getting the achievement, but DraQu is still leading the pack with 585.3344 seconds.]

The Hellacious indie game Devil Daggers — a brutally unforgiving shooter that hearkens back to '90s era FPS games like Quake — has bested every player, bar one.

The game is one of pure survival: Battle a relentless onslaught of devilish enemies until you wipe out or fall off the edge of its dimly-lit arena.

Keeping in theme with its deceptive simplicity, the game has just one achievement on Steam, "Devil Dagger," which demands you stay alive for 500 heart-pounding seconds. As of this writing, a player called DraQu is the first and only person to make it that far, and you'll only understand how impressive that feat is when you watch his world-record-breaking run below.

Warning: it gets rather intense.

That showcase of superhuman dexterity means DraQu is now sitting comfortably at the top of the leaderboard.

Hats off to you, sir.

What's your best 'Devil Daggers' time?
