In today's day and age, it's really hard to stand out in any medium, but one of the hardest has to be video games. It seems, however, that a new trend in video games is starting to take off. This new trend is putting live-action video in a game to push the narrative forward. It was done masterfully in the critically acclaimed game Her Story and now is being done for The Bunker.

In this, the latest game to take advantage of this new trend in gaming, you're put right in the middle of a creepy bunker, through which you'll have to navigate. You can check out the trailer below and find out what all the fuss is about:

The game was developed by Splendy Games and written by the creators of SOMA and The Witcher, who do a great job with narrative games. In the game you play John and must navigate the eerie bunker to find out what happened. It seems that this might be the next logical step for narrative games; adding live-action to the mix really elevates the game to another level.

The Bunker, for the moment, does not have an official release date and we aren't too sure what platform we will even see it on. We do know it will be on some consoles as well as mobile phones later this year.

What do you think about 'The Bunker' and gaming's increasing reliance on live-action video to tell stories?
