There’s something about the bloody and the brutal that we just can’t seem to get enough of. And, when it comes to fighting games, there is only one that truly satisfies our lust for blood. The Mortal Kombat series is as iconic as it is gruesome — the arcade fighter blew audiences away with its unique take on the traditional fighter. The introduction of finishing moves and excessive blood, dismemberment and gore rocketed the game to all new heights of video game infamy.

"Finish him!" That golden phrase, the affirmation of ultimate superiority over your opponent was the stuff of gaming legend. With each new edition of the fighter, we get all new sets of fatalities and brutalities and with each new game that hits the market, we move ever further away from the original. Which is not a bad thing — the new games are brilliant but when your roots are as impressive as Mortal Kombat's, you are sure to want to keep them close to your heart.

Over the years, we have seen some truly gruesome finishing moves in Mortal Kombat but with each new finisher we perfect, a yesteryear classic dies. So, what better way to celebrate this brilliant, brutal franchise than with a video that includes each and every Mortal Kombat fatality ever created?

Buckle up, get the sick bag at the ready — we are about to go on a vomit inducing journey through video gaming history. Enjoy this incredible video made by IZUNIY.

What an epic video that was! One hour and 45 minutes of blood-curdling awesomeness. The nostalgia is literally pouring out of my computer screen right now. There are definitely some classic characters in there that I would love to see make a return to the series.

Mortal Kombat X is the latest edition to the Mortal Kombat series and has been hailed as one of the best yet. I would have to agree with that. Ed Boon really has done a stellar job developing this franchise. Ed, you did good, man!

You must have a favorite fatality? Who performs the best fatality in 'Mortal Kombat,' and which one?
