Gearbox's ambitious MOBA/FPS crossover title Battleborn hasn't even released yet and already the devs are talking their next title, which to no surprise will be a welcomed return to the world of Borderlands.
Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford confirmed the rumor recently at a PAX East panel that Borderlands 3 will drop into development once they have stopped working on content for Battleborn. But the game is still so in its infancy that even the devs don't know what to expect, as highlighted by Pitchford:
We don't even know if we're going to call it that. We could call it Borderlands 4 for all we know.
Battleborn's art director Scott Kester will be taking on the same role on Borderlands 3, and Gearbox creative director Mikey Neumann will be returning as writer and the voice of Scooter.
But with all that news behind us, which features would you like to see return to the sure to be awesome third (official) installment of the cel-shaded franchise (The Pre-Sequel was dev'd by 2K Australia)? Here's a few things I'd like to see:
More Weapon Variety
Now I know Borderlands already has a thoroughly extensive amount of guns to dig out of nooks and crannies, but I'd love to take out enemies with a sword, or daggers, or two swords, or a giant axe made of lasers. Maybe that's just me, I dunno.
Even More Multiplayer Content
What would also be amazing is if Borderlands 3 included some kind of multiplayer system where 4 couch co-op players teamed up with another 4 players online, and tore through the game in two different teams of badasses vying for the same goals. They can help or they can hinder each other in an ultimate battle for supremacy.
What do you think?
Are you excited for the return of Borderlands?
