I'll be honest, I'm one of those people who complains about every single year, yet still goes out and buys the newest installment excited as ever to get my hands on it! I'm not ashamed about it, it's just how I am.

When I heard that Call of Duty's newest game was going to be set in space, my initial thought was "Jeez Call of Duty, run out of ideas already?" and I was fully prepared to hate the game upon its release.

But now, just as the game has been officially announced, I find myself absolutely drooling over it. Why? Because a new trailer is out, and man does it pull you in! Today, during the afternoon, Infinity Ward is going to host a livestream revealing more information about their newest game, Infinite Warfare.

But before then, the official Call of Duty YouTube channel has released the first full-length trailer for the game, and it is pretty great! Check it out below:

Like I said, the trailer has got me pretty excited for Infinite Warfare, more so than I ever thought I'd be!

But now that we've seen the trailer, what exactly does it tell us about the upcoming CoD title? Well, for one thing:

It's Definitely Coming Soon!

Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is coming out this year, on November 4 to be exact (November 11 if you're in the UK). This has become expected of the CoD franchise, with a new title coming out every year, usually around November.

Still, it's nice to have a bit of confirmation about the game's release date, just so we can all get our wallets ready for when the big day comes!

It's Definitely Set In Space (Partially At Least)!

Spaceships, planets, asteroid belts, there's no denying that this next CoD game is going to take place primarily in the cold vacuums of space. I'm still a little skeptical of a Call of Duty set in space, only because it sounds to me like lazy writing. But I have to admit, it looks pretty cool!

Regardless of how I feel about it, it does look like the next frontier is at least the main location for Infinite Warfare's story. But judging from the trailer, I don't think we'll be leaving Earth completely.

It looks like part of the story will exist on Earth, no doubt showing how the government plans to deal with this sudden invasion from...aliens? Other humans? That... we aren't exactly given an answer to. But I'm sure we'll be introduced to the main enemies of Infinite Warfare closer to its release!

It Might Also Be Set On Other Planets!

There are several scenes in the trailer that show space shops hovering near asteroids, people in what look to be space stations, and robots on what look to be giant asteroids!

All of these scenes have got me thinking that the emptiness of space and planet Earth aren't the only two venues that we'll be able to wage war on! It definitely looks like a few missions in the story will take place on space stations hovering above Earth, or on large asteroids and moons. Perhaps we could even get the chance to journey to other planets?

Now, I'm not expecting anything on the level of Mass Effect or No Man's Sky, but maybe we could see a few other planets other than Earth in Infinite Warfare. It would certainly make the multiplayer portion of the game extra awesome if the maps we could choose from weren't just limited to earth and giant asteroid locations!

There Could Be Spaceship Battles!

A scene in the trailer shows a bunch of spaceships about to wage war with each other above the Earth's atmosphere. I might be wrong, but I'm willing to bet that this scene is more just a cool cutscene in Infinite Warfare!

With the majority of the game set in space, it looks we'll be given the option to engage in action-packed spaceship battles! Now, whether or not this is just a mission, or if we'll actually be able to hop into these ships whenever we'd like is unknown.

But if this new Call of Duty game really wants to prove its worth, it will let us fire our spaceship's lasers as many times as we please!

Technology Is Once Again In The Forefront!

As expected from a Call of Duty game set in space, Infinite Warfare looks to be all about technology. From spaceships, to robots, rovers fighting humanoid sentries, technology is very much an important aspect of this game.

It looks like the weapons we get will also be technologically advances, as seen above by the image of a man getting pulled in by some sort of futuristic space-spear that would make Scorpion from Mortal Kombat proud! I'm all for new tech in Infinite Warfare, but let's hope that isn't the only thing the game focuses on.

Which leads me to my next topic:

It's Going To Be A Very Story-Driven Game!

One thing the recent Call of Duty titles have been lacking, in my opinion, is a good story. I've played through the stories of Ghost, Advanced Warfare, and Black Ops III, and none of them really impacted me very much.

They all had a stellar cast and the cinematic graphics were phenomenal, but when it came things like plot and characters, their stories just weren't very interesting. Especially not when you compare them to epic storylines of the Modern Warfare trilogy, and the original Black Ops game!

The trailer for Infinite Warfare definitely has my interest, and the story itself sounds pretty interesting, even if we don't know much about it. This may just be a return to good and impacting stories in CoD titles, even the synopsis has me thinking so:

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare returns to the roots of the franchise where large-scale war and cinematic, immersive military storytelling take center stage. Prepare for a gripping war story in which players fight against the Settlement Defense Front to defend our very way of life.

Hopefully Infinite Warfare will contain an interesting story, full of characters that I feel connected to, like Soap and Mason!

There you have it, everything that the newest trailer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare tells us about the game! More will undoubtedly be revealed closer to the game's release. Plus, there's still the livestream later today, which may reveal a bit more than this trailer did!
