Minecraft is literally one of the biggest games out there right now with over 10 million users. The franchise has become a worldwide phenomenon due to giving players the ability to create immense and immersive worlds that can be shared with their friends. The success of this has led to many different pop culture skins and packs being released since its creation. These include Doctor Who, Star Wars, Halo, and many more, but now, Minecraft is set to release one of its biggest this month. Since being released for the Wii U as a download last year, Nintendo fans have been playing catch-up on the Minecraft craze. Now, they will have the chance to play in one of Nintendo's most famous worlds.
Since the digital release on the Nintendo eShop, players were promised a physical copy soon as well as Nintendo crossovers. Flash forward to a year today and now we are getting our first crossover with Mario himself! Nintendo has announced a plan to release the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack on May 17th as a free update for owners of the Wii U version of Minecraft. The game will be released in disc format on June 17th for $30 and will contain the Mario content as well. You are probably asking yourself right now "why would I get excited over a couple of skins from mario?" I'm here to tell you that it's way more than that.
This will take Minecraft to a place its never been and that's the Mushroom Kingdom. Players can expect 40 skins that will include Mario, Princess Peach, Waluigi, and many more. And that's not all, as the mash-up will also allow you to re-skin all of the game’s textures, items and add 15 musical tracks from Super Mario 64. The game is also going to include a whole new world designed with all the new content available. Yeah, it's basically like playing a Mario game but in Mincecraft form. You can check out the trailer for it below!
If that trailer didn't get you more than pumped for this incredible mash-up, then I honestly don't know what will. This is what fans have been waiting for ever since Nintendo teased it a year ago. It will also be the first time that a Nintendo property will be officially represented in Minecraft. The possibilities are now endless as we could see even more videogame series come to life in the blocky world. I mean, if we get a Legend Of Zelda mash-up I wouldn't be mad at all. We can only wonder what's next, but in the mean time we can explore and play the Minecraft Kingdom this month.
The Mario and Minecraft Mash-Up Will Be Available May 17th
