The dust has barely settled on the reveal of DICE’s latest Battlefield epic and already we are told that there could be more exciting Battlefield content headed our way.

Speaking with International Business Times, EA’s Patrick Soderlund hinted towards the fact that DICE could potentially turn their attention to the iconic back catalogue of Battlefield, once they are done with Battlefield 1.

In response to a question asked - along the lines of an EA response to Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remaster - he teased that doing similar with Battlefield would not at all be out the question and if the fans wanted it, then they could probably have it.

I wouldn’t say never. We’re not doing it right now, we’re focused on Battlefield 1 – but if we think the fans want that I see no reason we couldn’t.

It’s not definitive but boy did it get the hair on the back of my neck to stand up. The Battlefield games are already visually pretty epic, so work to bring them up to the fidelity we expect from a current generation machine shouldn’t be too taxing. I would honestly jump back into any of the previous Battlefield games but would especially like to see a remastered Vietnam edition.

All this of course comes after DICE’s latest Battlefield epic, Battlefield 1. Battlefield 1 transports players back to the blood soaked trenches of WW1. With revolutionary new dynamics and countless new gameplay initiatives, Battlefield 1 looks to be one of the most promising shooters ever released.

What Battlefield game do you want to see remastered?

EA will be releasing Battlefield 1 on October 21, across Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
