Yooka-Laylee is a game being developed by Playtonic Games, the team who brought us games like Banjo-Kazooie. Even Banjo-Kazooie's soundtrack composer, Grant Kirkhope, is in on the project! Platonic Games just announced an upcoming demo for Yooka-Laylee available to those who supported their Kickstarter supporters who backed the project after a certain amount.

As promised in our Kickstarter campaign, the Toybox isn’t a traditional ‘demo’, but a self-contained, spoiler-free sandbox designed to give Yooka-Laylee backers a taste of the platforming to come in the final game. There are plenty moves to try, custom-built props to play with, secrets to discover and yes, shiny collectibles to hunt out.

How crazy awesome is that?! Fans who backed the Kickstarter will gain access to the "Toybox" in July.

If you aren't one of the lucky fans who backed the game on time, there's still plenty to read about what's coming in the future. Playtonic Games opened the flood gates to the Internet this morning, detailing some upcoming elements of Yooka-Laylee's story.

Yooka and Laylee’s adventure will take them deep inside the work halls of a baneful business, as the buddy-duo seek out the magical Pagies required to explore the mysterious Grand Tomes.

"Pagies" seem to reflect the likeness of "jiggies" from the Banjo-Kazooie.

This is all just speculation, but perhaps the worlds that Yooka and Laylee venture through are created by finding all of the proper pagies for that world (just like the jiggies did), and each world is a book, rather than an oversized jigsaw puzzle.

This epic quest is quite the "corporate conundrum". The main villain, Capital B, is a corporate man-- er-- bee who is curating a plan in his hivory tower to absorb the entire world's literature and turn it into profit.

I, personally, cannot wait to see what Yooka and Laylee's quest has in store. Playtonic Games says to stay tuned- we can be expecting more information on Yooka-Laylee over the next few weeks. There will be more coverage coming on May 26th, plus Playtonic Games have confirmed their presence on the E3 2016 show floor! Fingers crossed for a release date!
