It's completely fair to be pretty impressed with the sheer scale of Fallout 4's latest and possibly greatest DLC (thus far) Far Harbor. The new content brings with it the largest DLC landmass Bethesda has ever created, new missions, tons of new weapons and, of course, mo' bugs and glitches!
But an 18-person team has taken it upon themselves to create one hell of an ambitious mod for Fallout 4. One that may end up putting Far Harbor to shame.
Called Fallout Cascadia, the mod is set in post-apocalyptic Seattle several decades after the events of Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4, and is completely standalone to the game's main mission. Also, and most enticingly, the mod will reportedly be a teeny bit smaller than FO3's map, but will contain more quests and new places to explore than Far Harbor. Oh and it will be completely free. Ambitious, just like I said.
The mod will also incorporate actual locations in Seattle too, like Redmond, Bellevue, Mercer Island and airports and forested areas.
6 months into the development stage and, according to the mod's official FAQ, the volunteer devs are looking at several years of work before it will hit the likes of Nexus Mods and Bethesda's very own portal. But whether Cascadia will arrive on consoles is still up in the air like a sole survivor after taking a mini-nuke to the solar plexus.
Liking the sound of Fallout Cascadia?
