Earlier today Square Enix dropped the trailer for the next installment in the Kingdom Hearts series, Kingdom Hearts: 2.8. The game is the latest in the recent HD remakes of the entire series, following 1.5 and 2.5. This installment features Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Birth By Sleep: A Fragmentary Passage, and Kingdom Hearts X: Back Cover. Of course the only major title included here is 3D, but that makes it so much better, because that means more new content!
Dream Drop Distance
3D is the big returning game for this installment, and being previously only handheld on the 3DS, it's nice to finally see it come to a console. Obviously there is nothing super new to see in the trailer, as a lot of people who will be buying the game have already played this installment, but nonetheless it's still always fun to see it beautifully restored in HD.
Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep-A Fragmentary Passage
Ok, first off, WOW! This looks absolutely stunning! The game takes place following the events of Birth By Sleep and follows Aqua during her time in the Realm of Darkness. The gameplay looks beautiful and I just can't wait to play it. Then by the end of this portion of the trailer, Terra shows up! I have so many questions now! I cannot wait for this game to be released!
Kingdom Hearts X: Back Cover
This also looks amazing. While this portion of the game will just be cinematics, I am still incredibly excited to watch this! I've been playing Chi on my phone for the past 2 months straight and I have so many questions that NEED to be answered! The story looks amazing and I absolutely love the way the characters are portrayed here. While this will likely completely obliterate my previous theory about the foretellers and how it relates to the series, I'm still just as ready for this installment.
