We have been excitedly awaiting news on Telltale's upcoming Batman video game series for quite some time now. The studio, most renowned for its critically acclaimed The Walking Dead video game series, announced its intention to produce Batman: The Telltale Series but, since then, there hasn't been an awful lot of news on the topic — until now.

Ahead of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in LA, Telltale Games has unveiled screenshots and the cast list of its highly anticipated Batman episodic video game saga, Batman: The Telltale Series. This is major news, as it's our first glimpse at the first Batman video game to succeed the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham video game series.

The awesome screenshots weren't the only unveiling, as Telltale also revealed the cast behind the characters. The highly anticipated game series will feature the voices of Troy Baker as Bruce Wayne, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent, Murphy Guyer as Lt. James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle.

Although that is not the full cast and more surprises are expected to come, the game is already looking like it's full of rich Batman characters. On an interesting note, did you notice that Gordon is only a Lieutenant here? Perhaps this game will be set earlier in Batman's crime-fighting career.

As we previously reported last week, Batman will feature a "non-photorealistic" look inspired by comic-book artists Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, and Neal Adams — artists who are legendary for their contributions to the Batman comics. Furthermore, it will give the game a similar look to The Walking Dead series, which was also rendered in the cartoon-like style of comic books.

The four shots give us a look at both Bruce Wayne and Batman, exemplifying the earlier announcement that we would be able to play as both in the game. Furthermore, we were also given glimpses of the Batmobile, what looks to be the interior of Wayne Manor, and even a screenshot of Catwoman.

As awesome as these are, expect to hear even more announcements regarding the game, as we now know that the first episode will be released this summer. Also, with E3 taking place, it's likely that these updates will be sooner rather than later.

With Telltale's esteemed reputation and the mounting anticipation for another Batman video game, it's safe to say that expectations are running high for Batman: The Telltale Series.
