Friday the 13th: The Game, the nightmarish survival simulator fans of the series have been craving, is almost here, and the developers have released a world gameplay premiere that shows Jason tearing it up in Camp Crystal Lake. Potential fears that the game won't match the severe brutality seen in the movies can now be put to rest, as the video features horrific execution moves that'll make you wince.
It's an asymmetrical 1-versus-7 multiplayer game, with the overpowered hockey-masked killer going up against a group of petrified counselors.
As the demo shows off, you'll be actively exploring iconic movie locations ranging from a dusk-lit waterfront to the creaky staff cabins. At the beginning of each round, all players will spawn in a random location. The camp counselors must survive long enough to escape, while Jason's goal is...well, you can probably guess.
Take a look at how a sweat-inducing match will play out in the first-ever extended look at gameplay from Friday the 13th:
Gun Media has confirmed that there will be a single-player component to the game, but the primary focus is its intriguingly unorthodox multiplayer mode.
Friday the 13th: The Game is set for release in October 2016 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
