So Resident Evil 7 was just announced at the E3 on Monday, which for me was enough reason to celebrate since I've been waiting this since 2013 just exactly after I finished the so hated Resident Evil 6 (which I personally really liked) and now after watching the Teaser and now with a Downloadable Gameplay on PSN, I feel a bit more prepared to talk about it.

1. IT LOOKS LIKE PT.

I seriously love the Resident Evil franchise and most of its canonical games, however this teaser and the well... playable teaser, look just like the PT from Silent Hills. It's not necessarily a bad thing specially not when a lot of gamers showed the approval they had for this sort of games, however we are used to playing Resident Evil more as a known character that a random dude stuck in a house, which lead us to our next stop.

2.NO FAMILIAR FACES WILL BE IN THE GAME (Jill, Chris, Leon)

This is something that seriously pissed me off, since Jill Valentine is my personal favorite character and she is usually in odd-number games (1,3,5) is sad not seeing her here. Masachika Kanata, the game producer just told IGN "Basically no. It’s a whole new set of characters and situations". Which of course crushed my heart, but hey, he also mentioned "There could be some interesting surprises in store as well". Which says nothing but... let's hope for the best.

3. RESIDENT EVIL 1 AS MAIN INSPIRATION.

So apparently directors and basically everyone in CAPCOM realized that RE6 was just not well received so they decided to make major changes and according to Kanata, the whole First-person Gaming was decided to bring back the horror from past entries and what better way to do it than with first person gaming.

4. THE TEASER IS NOT ACTUALLY A TEASER.

How do I explain this... Playable teaser you just downloaded is not what you will see at the actual game, it's some sort what the game will look like, visually only... It's kind of confusing but the story you see in the game, the whole "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" look-alike thing (which Kanata mentioned to be an inspiration), won't be a part of the game, they just made a story up, where they would show what the game will look like and set the tone of the real gameplay.

5. THERE WILL BE GREEN HERBS (BONUS)

No big deal, just letting you know that even though our favorite characters may not be in the game, the so well known green herbs will be here ti heal you up, whenever you are dying.

VERDICT.

I'm still not sure how I feel about it because in my opinion 50% of Resident Evil greatness is on the horror atmosphere, the one that makes you pause for a moment , pray and keep playing, and in my opinion the other 50% it's about the actual combat you have to make against the zombies to keep yourself (or your character) alive. So without this whole combat and expertise from our favorite zombie killers, we are just playing Silent Hill... or Resident Evil Outbreak File 3.

Here's the walkthrough of the Playable Teaser.
