You know it's a good E3 when one of the big players drops a brand new Spider-Man game on your lap like it's nothing. Bless you, Sony.

So yes, at some point in the future we'll have a brand new Spider-Man game exclusively for the PS4, brought to us by the creators of Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, Sunset Overdrive and the Resistance trilogy. The E3 trailer didn't give us too much to go on, but there are a few easter eggs tucked within we think you'll want to see.

Spider-Man PS4 Exclusive & All That's New

First off, let's take a look at this new web-slinger.

Digging the new look, spidey.

When Insomniac Games took on the Spider-Man IP, they welcomed the first game into their midst that wasn't an original creation. Therefore, in order to ensure it has their own trademark feel, they wanted to change things up a bit. The first glimpse we have of this is the new suit you see before you. The white spider on his chest, the white knuckles and the white design down Spider-Man's arms are indicative of the new world they've created for him. The game is certainly set within modern-day New York and they'll be borrowing from Marvel's universe, but this is a whole new web of wonders.

Here's a brief statement on the new game from the creative director, Bryan Intihar:

Spider-Man is one of the most iconic and well-known characters in the world, and we’re thrilled to be given the responsibility to create a brand-new, authentic Spider-Man story. Nope, this isn’t the same Spider-Man you’ve met before, nor is our game based on the upcoming movie. This is a more seasoned Peter Parker who’s more masterful at fighting big crime in New York City [...] we’re downright giddy bringing Spidey’s acrobatic abilities, improvisation, and web-slinging to life. But we also want to introduce new elements that players have never experienced with Spider-Man, ranging from traversing with parkour and utilizing the environment, to new combat and blockbuster set-pieces.

With that aside, let's get to the easter eggs.

All Dat Villainy: Easter Eggs In Insomniac's New Trailer

First up we have the image above, which is a huge easter egg for one of the characters that's set to appear in this new game: Norman Osborn. The sign actually says he's running for mayor, and while we don't know if he's the lead villain, it's a nice look at what could be. Osborn has never run for mayor in the comic books, but he's certainly held a variety of powerful positions. Guess this new job comes with the new territory. Maybe Insomniac will give us their own take on the Green Goblin?

Daily Bugle

Just before Spidey launches himself through the window of this Starbuck's, we catch a glimpse of a newsstand that says "Daily Bugle". Just a nice little reminder that we'll be in familiar territory.

Mister Negative

Now we get a better look at our foes. This is actually one of the gang members, or Inner Demons, that works for a relatively new villain in the Spider-Man universe: Mister Negative. You can see him below. His henchmen wear dragon masks and are fairly durable and difficult to take down in the comics. In terms of Mister Negative, he possesses superhuman strength and reflexes, mental domination abilities, a healing touch power and he has access to advanced technology and secret laboratories along with the ability to switch between reversed and regular appearance and charge up knives and swords with black electrical energy. A damn good villain to take on.

Inner Demons

Here is just a glimpse at some of the versions of the inner demons we'll be facing in the game. That's a big one.

Here's another reference to Mister Negative. The store in the background called F.E.A.S.T. (Food, Emergency Aid, Shelter and Training) is actually a soup kitchen owned by Mister Negative. However, it's run by his alternative, good-guy personality, Martin Li and he's actually a pretty nice guy! So nice, in fact, that Peter Parker's aunt volunteers at the shelter with neither of them realizing how this crime lord is behind its construction. Could make for some interesting plot-lines in this PS4 exclusive!

Who's There?

Now, I know this looks like nonsense, but it was difficult to capture the exact moment clearly due to the speed Spidey is traveling at. But there's a moment where he lunges forward through some scaffolding in pursuit of something. Players have identified a black blur traveling beneath Spider-Man, suggesting he's dodging a super-fast villain. If you head back up to the trailer, it happens at 0:50. What do you think? Is something there? Is it the Goblin?

Did you spot anything cool in Spider-Man's new trailer?
