So, it's the night before the big day for dads across the country. A whole bunch of people probably have an idea of what they're doing for their dads. But what happens when your dad is a huge nerd, and you have no idea what to give him? Run to the closest GameStop and buy him a game, of course! Below, I've compiled a list of all the best games for all the dads out there.

Is your dad a Nintendo fan who likes handheld gaming?

I would definitely suggest Kirby Planet Robobot on the Nintendo 3DS. This iteration of the classic saga shows Kirby defending his home planet of Popstar from an alien attack that is mechanizing the whole planet! Kirby fights in new ways with different machines, new puzzles, and your favorite characters like King Dedede and Meta Knight. Also, since the game just came out in the US, it's pretty much guaranteed that your dad doesn't have it.

What about a dad who's a PlayStation platformer fan?

Well, there was originally a great platformer game on the PlayStation 2 called Ratchet and Clank. Unfortunately, getting your hands on either a PlayStation 2 or the game itself will be difficult if you don't have them both already. Luckily, there's a new remake for the PS4 — that's right, Ratchet and Clank is BACK! This remake is a great mix of the original story with some new action and graphics that enhance the original experience. Not to mention, there's an animated movie that just came out in March!

What if Dad likes first-person shooters?

Does your Dad have Overwatch? If not, get your dad Overwatch. This game has really taken the video game world by storm since its release! The story itself is incredible (though, told outside of the game itself) and features a huge, diverse cast of heroes and villains — not to mention, the graphics are spectacular! It's an amazing game and, luckily, it's available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC (through Blizzard).

What if Dad likes more.... adult games?

Well, this is certainly a game you do not want to play in front of the kids. This game is rated M, and it was directed by the same guy who directed Devil May Cry. Bayonetta tells the story of the eponymous witch who slays angels by summoning demons. It's not as popular as Mario, but Bayonetta was popular enough to get into Super Smash Bros. as a DLC character. However, do not play this game in front of younger kids. Please!

What if my dad likes indie games on the PC?

Well, luckily this game is available ONLY on PC in Steam. This game is called Undertale, and it's an indie-style RPG where you don't have to kill anyone if you don't want to. This game is definitely a cool throwback to classic games and has a lot of Mother Easter Eggs if your dad (or anyone watching) is a fan of Ness and Lucas. It also is the cheapest game of the bunch, being only $9.99 (and likely to be even cheaper during Steam's summer sale). Finally, it's a game that the entire family can watch alongside Dad while he plays!

I hope this fixes your Father's Day conundrums. What are you guys doing for your dads on Father's Day? Tell me in the comments below!
