Ghostbusters is upon us, and the general feelings towards this latest reboot are very mixed. Many fans are split between being excited for the new film or being totally, unequivocally against it. Whether you like it or not, Paul Feig's reboot is about to be released. This reboot is unrelated to the 1984 original and is instead a totally new story with new characters (though the original cast do have cameos). Ghostbusters 3 was something that was talked about for many years, but sadly, it never came to be.

However, in 2009 something wonderful happened - a Ghostbusters game was released! We had our third instalment in the series at long last. The original cast all reprised their roles and gave their likenesses to the game. Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis both acted as script doctors to the game adding to the authenticity of the project after writing the original films. The game, set two years after Ghostbusters 2 in 1991, featured the four Ghostbusters taking on a fifth member - the player character. The recruit acts as a guinea pig for the team's new inventions and gives the player an interactive experience in becoming a full-fledged Ghostbuster.

The game was met with a positive reaction from fans and critics alike, with Greg Miller from IGN stating the game "makes you feel like you are really a Ghostbuster." What more could fans want? The original cast reunited in an interactive experience that lets you live as a Ghostbuster - we had our Ghostbusters 3 at last. However, not everybody is a gamer, so there are potentially some Ghostbusters fans who have missed out on this experience.

That is until now! Yes, a Ghostbusters super fan, and keen YouTuber, by the name of GamestersStuff has spent many hours cutting the game's cutscenes and gameplay together into one full-length movie. Clocking in at 2 hours 20 minutes, it is longer than both of the original films, but do not be put off - this cut includes pretty much EVERYTHING. All of the cutscenes are in there as are a number of gameplay sections; pretty definitive indeed.

Whether you are looking forward to the new film or not, you can definitely enjoy the adventures of the original team. Whether you watch the original films or The Real Ghostbusters cartoon series, you can still see the adventures of Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore to you hearts content. But now, thanks to one kind person on YouTube, we can enjoy the third instalment in the Ghostbusters series!

Did you play the Ghostbusters game? Are you looking forward to the new film, or are you filled with dread? Let me know in the comments! :)
