Pokemon GO essential Tips To Catch 'Em All
Pokémon GO-ers in their masses are searching high and low for Pokémon, specifically the rarer types. Pokémon available in Pokémon GO are divided into five groups: Common, Uncommon, Rares, Ultra Rares and Epics. So far, we have a number of rares and even ultra rare Pokémon being found but what about the epics, the legendary Pokémon?
We know already that Mewtwo, Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno are included in Pokémon GO but are not available to catch right now; it is assumed that these Pokémon will be available to catch or battle during online community events. Upsetting, I know but great to know that they are obtainable. That’s all 150 Pokémon accounted for, but what about number 151, Mew?
Mew rounds off the Pokedex at number 151. This fabled Pokémon is the rarest of the rare and its inclusion in past Pokémon games has been limited, a genuine accomplishment for those dedicated enough to track it down. It’s appearances in past games got the community to thinking, will Mew be available in Pokémon GO too?
The answer seems to be a big poke-tastic, yes, but you can’t catch it just yet. Reddit users have been beavering away behind the scenes looking for clues into Mew's existence using datamining techniques. Luckily for us they were able to find some pretty cool Mew related content inside Pokémon GO's code!
They revealed that Mew will indeed be available in Pokémon GO and that it will be a totally unique Pokémon. Mew will not form part of the legendary crew; it will be the only Pokémon in the game to be a ‘Mythic’ breed.
Mew, like the legendary birds, does not appear to have a ‘base capture rate’ which further suggests that he too, cannot be caught like other Pokémon. The investigation also went as far as to identify certain stats for Mew.
So far as we can tell Mew will be a mighty powerful Pokémon, but not the most powerful Pokémon in the game. Mew currently ranks within the top three (max HP), sitting just behind Dragonite and Mewtwo.
So far, that is all the information the Pokémon GO code hunters were able to find, still, it is great to know that Mew will be included in the game and that it gets its very own category. Mew is one of the most sought after creatures in the Pokémon universe and to have it any less unique would be an insult to its cunning.
