As you should know by now, Warner Bros. are planning a solo movie for Ben Affleck's current run as the Dark Knight, and if Bats' latest appearances on the silver screen give any inkling as to how the movie will play out, you can be assured it'll be as dark as staring into a black hole.

But one of the more interesting rumors to take to the winds of justice is that the solo Batman movie will actually be taking place in Arkham Asylum, kinda like the first instalment in that trilogy of awesome Batman games made by a little team of devs hailing from the UK.

After the events of Batman v Superman, a cut scene from the movie occurs in which Batman tells Lex Luthor that he has arranged to move him to Arkham Asylum, much to Luthor's disdain, naturally.

Add that into the pot with a heady rumor from over at Batman on Film, where they believe Affleck's Bat-movie will have "a lot of Batman villains", and we're basically set for a live-action interpretation of Batman: Arkham Asylum if you ask me. Affleck did say he wanted to pull from past stories to imbue his brand new tale with a dusting of homages...

“I think what I would do, what I probably would do, is in some ways what Zack did with [BATMAN v SUPERMAN], which is to borrow certain things from the great comic books, but create an original story around it because I wouldn't want the fans to already know the story and be familiar. But I would borrow, steal, great things that have been done before in the comics.”

Though there's been no word on where this will eventually come to sit on the DCEU's timeline, I'll take a guess and say it's probably before the events of Suicide Squad. I mean, Bats is more than likely the reason the majority of them were incarcerated leading up the the events of David Ayer's impending super-movie.

What I'd Love To See

Holy lack of new ideas, Batman!
Holy lack of new ideas, Batman!

Arkham Asylum was a sensational game and a wonderful surprise back in 2009, and I'm 100% sure an actor/director like Ben Affleck will create one hell of a great Batman movie; the dude is crazy talented. But being the backseat producer I am, here are a few things I'd love to see included from the game.

And yes, I am excluding Grant Morrison's comic narrative -- because GAMES!

Grand Scale of Isolation

Though the game took place mainly inside of the infamous home of the violent and insane, Aslylum had this grandiose scale about it that made the building one of the greatest bosses in the title. Every corner was dripping with intrigue and terror, and I really hope they bring this sense of horror and isolation to the movie

If you could overcome the asylum, you could overcome anything Bats' rogue's gallery could throw at him.

The Joker
The Joker

Now I know Affleck said he and co-writer Geoff Johns were only borrowing elements from classic Bat-tales, but Arkham Asylum's plot is so bloody spectacular, I hope they're having a good look at it!

The Joker, in his own devilishly genius way, laid a trap to snare the Bat inside the asylum, and then would attempt to have him offed by all the supervillains already residing within there. Simple premise, great execution. And if the DCEU's Joker does turn out to be Jason Todd then that would allow for a true battle of the super-detectives and that, my friends, is my bag.

Fight Style

Hey good lookin'
Hey good lookin'

I'd say this is well and truly covered, if the way Batman dispatched goons in BvS wasn't enough of a hint. Can't wait to see him tear shit up again in The Batman (if that's actually what it will be called).

The Argo director more than likely hasn't felt this kind of pressure to churn out a hit, especially with WB breathing down his neck. But if there's anyone that could pull off a good Batman movie, Batfleck can. I mean, have you seen The Town? What a film!

What do you think?
