The Pokémon series's theme tune is one of the most iconic piece of music in pop culture history. There can be no denying that. I'm in my thirties and I still remember every single lyric to that bloody lied. And I may need a few drinks before honoring that statement with song.

But the sheer excitement and awe conjured up by its powerful crescendos of pure pop-rock mastery corralled millions of budding trainers to their TV screens in a matter of milliseconds. You know you were about to indulge in yet another amazing adventure in Kanto when Jason Paige was there, screaming out of your speakers.
But the 90s wasn't only a pretty damn good time for kids' show theme tunes, no no. It was a generally pretty ace time for music in general, what with the likes of The Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails and Destiny's Child ruling the charts. Yeah, I threw Destiny Child in there with those legends. And what? They were banging.
There were great artists and bands around then, which makes me think how it would have been if one of these guys performed the Pokémon theme tune instead. That would be crazy, right? Yes, as highlighted by this brilliant new video by Ten Second Songs.
Anthony Vincent has brought together a veritable dream team of 90s superstars who would be... interesting choices to take up the Poké-mantle in this great fan video. And really, the idea of Billy Corgan smashing his way through the Poké-theme has made my day alone.
