Pokemon Go has players walking for miles in search of new Pokemon to increase their XP and their level. But, there is a sneaky way for a player to (team) rocket up their XP using those pesky Pidgey, Weedle, Caterpie and Rattata that pop up every few feet. So, how can they help you with your XP? Let me break it down for you.
1. Catch 'Em All!
Every time you see a Pidgey, Weedle, Caterpie or Rattata, make sure you capture it! This will result in gaining three candies each time and a minimum of 100XP. As you fill up your box with the new captures, this will result in lots of candies very quickly! 10 captures will give you 30 candies, 20 will result in 60 and so on...
2. Activate a Lucky Egg!
Once you have dozens of Pidgey, Weedle, Capterpie and Rattata activate a Lucky Egg. As stated in the image above, this will increase the amount of XP the player will gain for 30 minutes. But, do not use this while you hunt and fill up your boxes with new captures. There is a reason for this, and that is to evolve your hordes of Pidgey, Weedle, Caterpie and Rattata.
3. Start Evolving!
Pidgey, Weedle and Caterpie all only require 12 candies to evolve to their second forms. Every time you evolve to Pidgeotto, Kakuna or Metapod, you would normally gain 500XP - but with a lucky egg activated you will gain 1000XP. Rattata requires 25 candies to evolve, but with how common they are it is not difficult to reach that number with less than 10 captures. Within the 30 minutes, by just evolving these four, you can gain more XP than you could imagine!
The Method to the Madness!
While it seems nuts to go out and capture dozens of Pidgey, Weedle, Caterpie or Rattata, but it can prove to be extremely beneficial in helping you level-up. With levels requiring 20,000XP and up from level 15, this simple trick could help you shoot-up the levels like never before. Just remember not to use more candies to evolve Pidgeotto, Kakuna or Metapod as it will cost you 50 candies and still only result in 1000XP with the Lucky Egg activated.
