If the snazzy coverage from June's E3 or the amazing trailer didn't convince you, then allow me. I had the opportunity at San Diego Comic-Con to actually play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — and I was not disappointed, not one bit. Here are the five reasons why you should play the latest Zelda release; I know I will be when it comes out in 2017!
1. Open Air Concept
Don't confuse this with open world. The gameplay is extraordinary. You can go anywhere and interact with pretty much everything you see! (More of that a little later.)
This was the part I felt truly made this game unique: having to change clothes, depending on climate. You can fall while climbing if your stamina runs low, and you need to eat to boost your strength. In order to do all of these things, you have to go out into the world and collect wood, hunt and forage, and gather weapons. You don't regain health slowly, but must eat to get your vigor back!
The game is simply gorgeous. Everything comes together beautifully. The artistry is uncommon and yet still feels familiar. To see what I'm talking about, take another look at the trailer below.
4. New Weapons
Another big point of difference is that you have to find your weapons in game through a loot system, and they can even break! And there are new weapons available, too. You can go from using a simple stick to an awesome ax that takes longer to swing, but if you charge it up — BOOM! You'll hit your enemy harder.
That's right, you heard me. The minds behind Zelda had introduced climbing before, but never has there been jumping. Well, our fan prayers have been answered and you can jump all the way into battle if you so choose!
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild comes out in 2017 on Wii U and Nintendo NX!
